Clam, you're kidding right? I know you've been away....but that blue Head would go for ALOT more than that.....
You drive up prices with your fat wallet.
I bought the blue Mutant for $75 in 2006.
And it's an unspectacular figure.
But the Hype Machine says otherwise.

Would love to buy it now for $75 or even $150 or even $200, but it isn't gonna happen.

Collecting RxH these days requires no imagination or thinking.
Just follow the herd.
Meanwhile, others are chasing tomorrow's RxH.
Cause RxH, the brand, is overplayed and the recent sculpts are what they are.
Just saying...

notice how after Mori states that Popsoda is not really considered RxH, there's about a million up for sale at rockbottom prices...did people buy them because they like them or because "that RxH is so hot right now...RxH"

Moo.
I thought people stopped buying them after the 10th unpainted colorway.

I think it might definitely feel overplayed if you've been along for the ride from the beginning......because it seems to have risen in popularity especially recently.
I'm kinda glad for Mori, that his line of figures has really taken off....I say he's earned it. When the Mook finally drops, it will be great to see where it all started.
I can't say that the newer releases aren't exciting too. The upcoming pink Evil looks great.

No debate there, anybody that puts that kind of effort into producing their stuff deserves to be successful...but when I see people going nuts over unpainted flesh colored vinyl it just makes me wonder where the hell their mind is at. Are they scrambling to grab the hottest new rare piece or do they actually think flesh colored vinyl looks good? That's a rhetorical question (I think)...
and BTW I think those older, crazy paint app RxH are fucking amazing. Well worth the $300 people are putting down for them, but nowhere near the $700+ I've seen some go for. That shit is CRAZY.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the blue mutant is one of my favorite RxH figs that I own. I agree with some of what you say but not about this liquid

I actually hadn't noticed people "going nuts" over the unpainted flesh figures.... I thought those figures were a great release for new fans especially who wanted a cheaper, easier to find version of all the sculpts.
And I definitely agree with INV2! Flesh figures are awesome for customs!

I still love Pop Soda given the new info.
On your point about flesh figures, my wife loves the flesh figures, RxH or not. I do too but not as much as her.
Also it's nice to have one day when I start doing customs.

Flattered (seriously) that someone agrees with some of what I say.
But I just remembering opening the box, I bought it used off of a board member, and being spectacularly underwhelmed. A few days later I had a smoke and saw it in a somewhat different light and appeciation. But never as a major figure/paint
Datadub's Split is also amazingly cool. Maybe in its simplicity.
The Jarinko Mutant Head is quite spectacular in my opinion. The clear with metallic and red eyes. Amazing. The blue? Okay but ehhh and I like blue toys...

There's the semi clear Ogan Bat and the clear Ogan Bat.
It never ends.
Mook. Paging Mook.

yeah. but not into the all clear ogan bat even though it will look great together with the BB set... but not worth the value it's going for IMO. The semi clear is awesome.

RxH and Pop Soda continue to work closely together. (Just check out Kaizine #5 - the PopSoda figures are right there alongside every other RxH figure.) I think people are going way overboard trying to disassociate the two. Heck Mori even draws the PopSoda comic, right?
In terms of saturation, has there been a recent flood of RxH releases? You betcha. But a bunch of them have been nice. I'm happy to see my Chaos collection grow.
I think things will cool down a bit if the rash of blank releases stops or slows down.
I also think the aniticpated "Mook effect" is WAY overblown, but it does show how much people are affected by hype. I'm sick of reading things like, "Wait for the Mook. Then RxH will REALLY go through the roof." Please.
Mori has all kinds of talent and seems to really enjoy making kaiju. I'm glad he's getting his props, but the hype circus and fad collecting are getting to be a bit much, eh?

The semi clear Oghan, and the Jyarinko Head `are both AMAZING figures. ANyone who has the evil is a lucky man!
The PopSoda is more a case of POP ovreload - releasing too many colorways too soon, and not enough of then have been that special - I am pretty happy with the ones I have though, but probably don't need any more...apart form maybe that weird mother of mother of pearl paint job from a recent fest - that ruled!
