I just don't like the "fade" between the orange & black.
I think the GID is cool, not too keen on the bright colours though.
But then I did break and get the GID regardless.
glowy goodness.

GID bloodsplatter would rock on this one, and I figure it is very likely, as damn near everything else has come out that way...
A clear glow sheet (xray galtan style) over a solid body would be pretty nice also, at least to me...
I do like that they tried to make Obake a bit more menacing...

me agree with lash too, but no need to get it, krids might love it though.
seems to be hard for j-companies to resist doing s.th. for huge
market of dummy collectors as they will be able to sell 10 times or even 100
times more figures.

Hiddy says he is just having some fun with the Obake, as he sees it as a mischevious spirit - and thats what the make-over represents.
Over to your other question; from my chats with Hiddy, the impression that I get is that appealing more to that demographic is not something that has even crossed his mind. We took a short walk around Melrose after SDCC, and I suggested visiting some local Western Vinyl stores, and that was ruled out immediately!
The closest he got to Western was this Kaws stuff at my house (sorry, atleast I managed to wait over 3 months before I posted this )

I guess why fix what isn't broken.
I'm not the hugest fan of the old scupt, so I'm open to most things.
Not the orange though

Sure, but without trying new things, innovation would never happen. SO even though it may not be the classic obake, and it may not be to everyone's taste (so far, I prefer teh classic Obake, but I haven't seen teh new guys up close yet), IMO it's a good thing to try out new ideas.

This Obake isn't so bad but I have my preference with the original.

I was actually trying not to be an ass by keeping it quiet...but atleast its buried deep in a thread, and as SecretBase is my favorite toy brand, you can imagine how STOKED I was when he stopped by!
