 Skullpirates.
Don’t worry, I believe the edition size is big enough to supply all those RFSO/Pushead Fan/Japan Vinyl collector. Just imagine the first one to have a Plastic header, those header don’t come cheap compared to the normal cardboard ones. SB even manage to keep the retail prices of these Skeletal at the usual price, heck , it’s even cheaper then the Rusty pirates, they were selling a while back.

Or (just to be pessimistic)...SB splurged on the plastic headers because it's a limited run.

Like Zulkarnaen said- they price was reasonble so im sure the ammount produced was fairly large- in my experience the samller the production run, the higher the price, although that is normally in a flippers market.
If you, for example, look at the price on knut ( everyones favorite retailer) in comparrison to the other pirates on there- it is one of the cheaper ones, even at those inflated prices.

the pice on shipping from SB is 9975 yen = $87
which is MORE than I paid for the blood, desert, berry at retail
and 8 less than the anniversary & rusty.
Edition sizes (whatever they are worth) are likely to become bigger (but not too big to flood the market) most peepes will buy two so they can have both! me i'm happy with one as for some reason I can't get my head round the captain, so if anyone wants a head !
look on ebay
don't worry about getting a beatdown samba, happens to everyone
you know what they say...
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger....
fuck em if they can't take a joke.....
and everyone on here is a nerd no matter how cool they think they are

Hey, late to chime in - sorry, but I'm laid up in bed right now - anyways Samba, don't feel bad about asking the edition size. I am sure plenty of us are interested in edition sizes, and plenty of people have asked before you.
If you come from a Western vinyl collecting background then its all about edition sizes - but the deal is that most of the Japanese boutique toy companies don't put out edition sizes. I think part of the reasoning behind this is that they would likely prefer to let the toy speak for itself, rather than its popularity be based on the fact it is harder to get than a similar release.
I remember a while ago Brian Flynn pointed out a particular release (I think it was the Devilock split bees) that he had inside info that they were produced in a much smaller run than another release at the same time. That other release became much more sought after based on the fact that more people dug it. Imagine if the run size had been released, then there is a good chance that people would be going after the more limited release - despite it being not quite as rad. When S7 were releasing two Ghostfighters a while back, like the first valentines day release - the limited sub version sold out first - when aesthetically there isn't much to choose between the two.
So, keeping the run sizes on the DL is a good way to let the toys speak for themselves….and also keeps the speculators away IMO.

great answer carl...i wobble back and forth on wanting to know at times but the reason i actually like knowing the run sizes of jp stuff is to know realistically if i'll ever own something i missed out on but then again...you never know what can plop in front of you in life.

I agree, and I am sure most of us are curious about run sizes for the reason you give, and just pure curiosity (we would hardly be the OCD toy collectors we are if we never thought about it) ...I know I am. But in the end it probably works out better that we don't know.

I will give anyone a super secret document that lists all run sizes for any jp vinyl release for a measily $10,000.
Any takers?

If I pay up, will you change your avatar to one without big bouncing titties - for some reason the motion on these makes me seasick.....not to mention reminds me why there are so few female collectors on these boy dominated boards....

Knunt rocks sometimes, get in stuff other places don't have or like cool stuff thats hard to track down, you just pay for that detective work. I have got a couple things on there for totally fair prices and was happy with it. I think other people use it on occassion and just hate on it so others don't go on and cop some of those rare come ups. Its like cocaine though, it costs a bit more then it should and should only be used in moderation........

Done deal. Changing my avatar now. I take certified check or money order in such large sums.
For me, it doesn't matter whether someone is a boy or girl on here. All I see is text from fellow collectors. Anyone could be a hermaphrodite for all I know.
