Post Flocking...
If you could flock anything what would it be?

I have access to a flocking machine, I need to use it, I just don't know what to use it on...

(I've done it again... but I am fully prepared for the playground jokes...)

and I am NOT going to go flock myself.

I'd flock an M1 Matango. Please flock one moldy green and sell it to me. :D

This sounds amazing. Can you choose the colour? How does it work exactly. Flocking good times!

I'm SOOOO pleased other people are excited too!

The only flocked stuff I've seen (that leaps to mind) are the skullwings.
You know, aside from bunnies at easter. It doesn't bring out subtle detail does it?
I need to find out more about it, like if I can mask bits off etc etc.

Basically my girlfriend has one at college and only mentioned it today cuz next week she can use it for whatever since she finished her project.
So I have a week to decide.

flocking will soften detail. bright colors in flocking will further obscure detail, so i would pick a large piece with simple, deeply sculpted detail and use mid-range colors.

Could you mask off and only flock certain parts of the figure?

If you could, something like a Bemon or Matango would be pretty interesting to do. Various colour flocks for mould etc. and then shiny, painted parts for goo etc.

Personally, I can't stand flocked toys.

Having said that, you should totally flock a Woo.

The thought had crossed my mind. But that takes the fun out of it.
That thought lead me to looking at my kaws pus guy...
He's pretty all green and whatnot... but if he was fuzzy... and I could mask off the boils and some stitching...

Flocked beard and hair on a Galtan would rock. I'd call it the 'G.I. Joe' version.

I've seen the process for electro static flocking on GI Joes. I know a guy or two who restores old GI Joe figures that have lost hair. The flocking on GI Joes are thicker and the strands actually stand straight. Flocking on vinyl is more of a soft fuzz finish. Masking for either one is very possible. Just don't apply glue on anything you dont want flocked. The extra fuzz can be blown off.
