an art institute

I've won "Best of Quarter" on 2 different occasions now. however, both times it's been for a general education class - English Comp. 1 and now Art History II. what that tells me is that I should probably be a writer instead of an artist.

I sent most of you PMs with the name/address of the person you ended up drawing in the mix trade. send off your mix whenever you're done/happy with it.

if you haven't received a name/address yet it's because I'm still waiting on a couple people to send me their info. I've notified them via PM that I still need it and whenever I get it I'll forward it to you.

hmmmmm...sounds like it's time for you to start in on a zine or a graphic novel as a project. blend both into one. whadda you say? who else here wants a skylar zine or gfx novel?

I'd be down for a skylar graphic novel, especially if it is dark and sinister! Good for you on the award, also! Can't hurt an artist to have a good command of the language and a sense of history about his craft!

Back to the thread, my first draft of the mix is done and it kills...just have to tweak it a bit for my intended recipient...

I am STOKED to get this out to my person today. I listened to the mix in my car this morning and am really happy with the way it came out. I hope the receiver will be as well. This was a lot of fun putting a mix like this together. I have not done a comp like this in a long time and it brough me back like 10 years!

I purposely ommited the song and artist list from the CD so hopefully my person will dig what I put together...

mine is in the works. since my cd burner at home is on the fritz i will be burning it here at work. and i will be dollars to donuts that it will be the most brOOtalist mix there is.

alright...i'm ripping the track list off mine before i pop it in the mail tomorrow too. i say we post tracks here after a few weeks too to "share"...what do you guys think of this? this way people can get names/info if the dig something (or want to buy cds to crush in protest)...BOOM!

Scary Andy (I assume it's from him, the only British Andy I know here) was cool enough to send 2 cd's. Cd 1 is more modern, not all metal though. Rammstein and Andrew W.K. were the ups (fan of both actually) but some negative points for Slipknot (sorry, not hating, just not a fan.)

Disc 2 is called "Crotch Rock" and it's MUCH better (in my opinion). I wouldn't call Black Sabbath, Motorhead or Zepplin "Crotch Rock" (ok maybe Zep) perhaps the FATHERS of it along with the NY Dolls, but Def Leopard and KISS are both VERY Crotch. But it was cool to get 2 discs, and as I said Disc 2 rocked me much harder, thanks!

(what's track 14 though on crotch rock?)
