Post Packages and unconfirmed addresses...
Recent events have made me decide to make a poll concerning shipping out packages. I was wondering with all the paypal-ing going on, how many sellers would ship to an unconfirmed address?

Yes. I've done it in the past with no hitches whatsoever.

I've done in several times, I actually talked to someone at Paypal over the phone about this and was told as long as I can prove it was delivered that's all that matters so just be sure to ship trackable or delivery confirm or something.

if this is true (not saying its not) then there should be no worries. Delivery confirm all.

Delivery confirmation is very different if it goes to an apartment building rather than a home. It is by no means the fault of the sender that a package would be missing after delivery. I'm just trying to see what others think of sending a package to an unconfirmed address (example: your work place for some is an unconfirmed). I'm hoping that any other packages that were sent out to me or are going to be sent out, will get to me. I still have hope that I will see my missing package but after 3 days of it being confirmed for delivery and nothing at my door, my hopes are just a dream now. I am more sad because one of the toys in the package was going to a friend who needed it to complete his set :(....life sucks and then you move on and whoever has my package will get what's coming to them.

After the recent issues with DYUBBKIM, where I received a Paypal payment from someone other than the buyer (which in hindsight wasn't smart at all), from now on I will only be accepting Paypal transactions from users with confirmed addresses.

I voted no but I would vote yes but with explanation from buyer and decision would be based on vibe I get....I feel like i'm pretty good at sniffing out a fraud.

i would ship to wherever a buyer asked, unless it felt really sketchy for some reason. i try to err on the side of trusting and believing in people, even though ive been burned a good number of times in the past. that might make me an idiot, but im okay with that.

It simple.

Whenever someone paypals you with an unconfirmed address..You always verify and email them before you ship. Send them an email and ask them is this xxxxxxx the right address. Then you have written proof from them to back your case in case they claim the didn't receive it.

I also ship with delivery confirmation BUT i always confirm what address they are having it received it.

we've shipped literally thousands of packages - confirmed or not confirmed - doesn't matter - NEVER a problem actually. after maybe a thousand shipments!

My neighborhood is totally deceiving. It looks safe but really it isn't. I've had my car since 2003 and it's been broken into more times than I've had it. Packages are getting stolen from the lobby of the apartment building I live in, but at least the hookers are no longer on our street.

It's very hard to get some overseas addresses confirmed.

If you're dealing with a stranger on Ebay, and it's for a high dollar item, I can understand the hesitation, but if you're selling to someone here that you know, what bloody difference does it make whether the address is confirmed?

I tell you what's more important is making sure the seller writes the address legibly. For chrissake, you're sending something thousands of miles away. Try not to scribble like a 2 year old. ;)

I will admit that I fucked up once, or Paypal fucked once, and a USA became a UK.
I had a package ship to me yet ended up going over to the UK despite a USA street address and city and state. Somehow a US became a UK.

Fortunately, it made it back in one piece. Took weeks but it arrived.

mixed addresses...funny story...
lots of germans to go to amsterdam in holland,
where consuming dope is cheap, legal and very good quality i was told.
buy something there and have it sent to ur home address,
to prevent getting caught by costums when going back.
a friend did so but package wasnt delivered - dope is gone
but he got post from us police couple weeks later.
post office in holland mixed up berlin germany with berlin in the us.
bad luck...

last time i called paypal germany they said german addresses
wont be confirmed as of today, but they are working on it.
interested: does paypal uk or france confirm addresses?
