I have more of a question than a comment and I don't know if there's even an answer but where have the OG's gone? I rarely see any of the original members post here any more. Have people simply moved on life-wise or has then scene on the board been pushing people into the background?

Posing with the Shaolin Death Pinky's isn't helping your case.

depends on your definition of og. I have been on other BBs some for 8 years (posters, car stuff) and the 'turnover' here is actually pretty low.
I know that some have left for these reasons:
1. boredom
2. disgust that a once 'secret' hobby has become ' too popular' and that its no longer
cool to be invovled here.
3. maxed out credit cards/financial trouble/life problems.
4. hounded away by other members
5. busted for being scum
6. woke up, realized a big pile of plastic toys is not enough, got out of it.
all the usual reasons.

 That's just crazy talk!
Thanks for the post Mr. Flynn. Nastiness is no fun, and the "Fresh Meat/I've got more posts than you so I'm cooler" crap is infantile. I do still come and visit, mainly to read. I don't post because I don't have much to add to what's already been said. I love the toys and learn a lot. That's what it's all about for me. Hopefully people will mellow out.

I consider myself a mid-level OG. Been into toys for a long time (7 years old) and have been on the board for awhile. I find myself more reading and taking in info that and adding a few sarcastic comments (which a lot of people seem to STILL take seriously) here and there and that's about it. Seems if there is any info that needs to be given out the answer has usually been given before I have a chance to chime in.
Also what Frank said - people get lives and move on.
Moto - Pregnant? Lets see I think Brian & Dora are having a kid soon!!!!
And Don - Stern? A very Japanese way to say your a serious dude!
All valid points Brian brought up. Thanks for clearing the air so to speak.

Shut it, Fresh Meat!
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
(Yes, that wink means I'm joking...just thought I should enter this disclaimer before the thread spirals into the riot Brian was asking for.)
Honestly, I haven't noticed any Fresh Meat hate on here - at least not hate just for noobs sake. There's been new folk that have come on and really started off on the wrong foot - they got dressed down...but not for being new, just for being a total jackass.

Which in case, I need to email Brian.

The stare is intense for sure, but the "night train" pic and sign are too much to handle...
I thought that maybe the OGs were just hanging out more on the FC board more frequently....don't want to incite any ill will saying that...just wondering I guess.
Yes, there have been a bunch of board members that I miss posting....especially the longer standing ones, because they seem to posess knowledge about these hobbies that only come from experience. I lurked here for almost a year...and vibe was definitely different....but change can be good...as long as we remember to keep it fun. I hope.

Yeah I guess it all makes sense.
God knows there have been days where I've looked at my collection and thought about all the time and energy I've spent. I love my stuff but I sometimes wonder where I’m going with all of it. But then there are times, like when my first exo-head came, that I think this is exactly why I collect, that rush of getting that hard to find, beautifully designed piece that you just turn over and over in your hands…

I think you're wrong, there has always been attitude here and I believe it was even worse back then.

I have no idea what makes 'og' as far as toys.
I myself have been collecting japanese toys since 1982 or so. I started collecting the 'new' style stuff around 1997. in between I collected 1950's and 60's tin toys as well. also Japanese. I started collecting SB in 2004- or 2005. I have bought and sold entire collections of all those toys several times. So basically I have dabbled or gone whole hog for...25 years.
am I OG? who the hell knows.

"OG" is relative, and all too frequently a point of self-inflated ego rather than anything objectively quantifiable. I'm more impressed by knowledge and well-done collections than how long someone has been a member of some internet board. If someone has a lot of kaiju knowledge and their collection shows some sort of focus, individuality, or comprehensiveness, that means so much more than "I signed up at this board a year before you and it was soooo much better back then." Anyone can toss attitude around for the fleeting illusion of some sort of status superiority, but when you take a step back and focus on what really drew people here regardless of when, that sort of thing can seem pretty silly. The toy is the thing.
