And they sat there for hours too. I really should have bought them up for trade bait.

Yeah, try living outside the US.

seems like there are just as may "japan only" releases (not just Biskup) that we miss out on here in the US. especially stuff like the Virus Pollard.
i'd love to be a secret base fan club member...

Enjoipanda have you emailed SB to request items? The FC is closed to non Japan residents which includes me.
But Secret Base has hooked me up directly from Japan on so much good stuff in the last few months that Hiddy and his staff have earned a tremendous amount of good feelings towards them.
I miss out on more than 50% of the pieces I request from SB yet they hook me up when they can and I don't forget things like that (Crank HPs for example).
To SB I'm just another faceless consumer but they really seem to care and as a result I will support them as much as possible.
Collecting Tim's stuff just bums me out these days and its been going on for awhile. Its silly to collect something you really enjoy when you just end up being unhappy and frustrated. Its easier to move on.
I added up what I spent on common Biskup releases in the last year and this decision means I will have $1000 + to put towards other things that do make me happy and don't leave me frustrated.
I'm not just a wallet with legs.

sb is amazing and they have been hooking it up like pros as much as they can. but to my understanding, you have to live in japan to be in the fc.

I think I might have the best pollard collection but Wendy's is the best Biskup collection overall. However, Paul has a lot of good stuff too.

I think Paul's collection is much deeper than mine. Glenn & Henry both have better Pollard collections than I do and Ouister has some great Drags, but yes, I've got a lot of Biskup stuff. And paintings; it's the paintings that keep me sane, they are the reason I don't mind getting out of bed in the morning.
I live in New York, and have missed some really nice releases. But I've also made some really nice friends in Cali who have helped me out (Glenn, Henry, Ouister, Paul, etc.). To say you won't collect any more because you miss a few releases is odd to me. If you can't have everything you don't want anything??? But that's okay, more for me

Well the acid test is coming up in a few days so we'll see if I can beat my TB addiction when faced with a Pollard grail, one of my favorite vinyl sculpts across the board from any creator. A week ago I'd have gone absolutely over the top to get it.
I think its the repeated denial thats prompted this decision. Or maybe I just have bad luck with Biskup work and thats balanced out by really good luck with the Japanese neo Kaiju stuff so they get my good feelings.
If I didn't think KAWS was a hack and hadn't quit buying his work based on its complete lack of artistic merit I'd likely have made a similar decision because of his difficult distribution methods.
Biskup on the other hand I think is brilliant and just getting better. Its just too hard to get so many things he releases since I'm not in LA and collecting his work no longer makes me happy but frustrated.
Its likely an irrational decision but I never claimed to be rational.

In case anyone else was wondering, I called the museum today to make sure my order went thru since my card hadn't been charged yet. They informed me that the orders were going out fedex today and they would be charging everyone after the shipping was determined. Just a heads up!
