so the reason for the American idol section is for artists that work with Japanese companies? making eastern vinyl by western artists?
so is it Japanese vinyl only? is Made in China OK?
how about hand made in the states?

I can understand being picky about subject matter but geographical location is kind of screwy

Naw, this is in the right section. Don't worry about it. If no one wants to talk about Western crap this area should just be deleted. But people tolerate Frank's KFGU crap in here. But this really is the bastard forum on the boards. It might spark up for a few hours with a new KAWS release, or Usagiwhatever, but that's about it.

I wonder, this section is called American idols
so what is wrong with posting Western designs here?
I can post our Collaboration with Futura here but it has nothing to do with figures. besides Kaws, Kozik and Futura, jermaine and a handful of others
there are not many worth while toys to talk about, I am the guy designing and producing the stuff I am trying to share. this is RFSO to us, we put our money where our mouth is with our "shit"

I think I am missign something here...

Western toy designer talking about western designer toys
in a wester designer toy section is frowned upon?

you are in the right forum, try to ignore most of the gibber jabber. However, you might find it is not worth your time to promote your stuff here since most people aren't buying.

guys,

by all means express your opinions freely.

that said, it would be nice to aim just below 'really really mean' and express those opinions in a way that says "hi, i really hate your creation, but its cool that you have the balls to post it here in the forum section designed for this kind of topic" rather than "hi, i really hate your creation, go away right now."

its true, this site and s7 leans far away from most western toys, and nearly everybody here is here for the real-deal japanese kaiju, but to be fair, this section of the forum is intended for discussion about the things that are outside of the kaiju world, but still more interesting than d'unnys. Whether you think its awesome or poop, klim is posting his stuff in the proper place.

Thanks for this

I really apreciate it.

I am not really posting here as "go by my funky fresh shit now" type of a thing our stuff is pretty diverse and seems to find an audience
I am mainly sharing what WE are currently hard at work on at the studio

When we do a project we like to share, with any folks that might get a kick out of what We spend many sleepless nights over

thanks for all the encouragement and positive perspective
I really appreciate all the PMs as well

tanks

Klim

Sounds like you live in Asheville Klim. I read that the town is like Haight Asbury and called the San Francisco of the South East Coast.

I appreciate all your hard work and hope you don't give up on your dreams. You live in an awesome place that has to have some reall artists around there.

I know you don't need anymore black bear wood carvings!

yeah
Iam in ashevile, came for a camping trip 12 years ago and fell in love with the scenery and teh vibe
when it waws time to bail on NY we moved out here, been 3 years and I am very very happy
I miss all the cool guy shit that I would normally get to do in the city but being ou there keeps me grounded and gives me a new perspective

there is a TON of manufacturing and production here as well, wood, metal, Glass
(them hippies really know hot to blow a good bong in many many colors!), ceramics etc... I am tryign to figure out ways to start gettign more things made locally too
the creative community here is incredible

I have no plans to give up, been designing toys for over 15 years
the designer toy stuff we do for fun so if people dont like it it really does not matter to me as I dont put my name on anything I am not 1000% behind

Post OOOOOO YEAH!!!!
Just got the first test shots of the robot....
HOLY CRAP!!! the prototype was cool but having actual test shots with all parts articulated around is pretty insane....
fingers are fully articulated, super durable and extremely posable...
it is 14" tall

should release at NYCC and then continue in different Mission specific designs

all new weapons and accessories look amazing, thestuff at teh SDCC was just comps

pics soon
