a lot of the clear vinyl toys have most definitely become harder after a few months - the most dramatic changes are in:
(a) mini zags, especially the clear & painted clear ones by MaxToyCo 0-
when they were new they were pretty soft & now they are nearly as firm
as the others
(b) the Real Head Slime figures
