Yeah I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these- I prefer the grendizer colours though, and yeah it are reeeel expensive. I assume its a big figure though. Also he has incorporated shooting parts and stuff which you would think would up the production cost but surely anyone who actually buys this figure isnt gonna be interested in the fact that it can shoot missiles? Most people would just be displaying it? and with that price tag I know it aint aimed at kids!

I've had that on my list since I first saw it in an issue of Clutter a few months ago. I thought I had missed it...and now it's out...and I'm probably going to miss it because of the price tag. It looks really clean, but then it is just a pic. I hope one of the stores out here gets it so I can check it out.

LOL ,I noticed that it uses almost the same packaging as my bot. Roto says it's about 8" tall and then some part of the description says it's 11" tall?

Its far too expensive and really looks like its just a super deformed derivative (rip off) of earlier Japanese creations.

I'm a pretty huge Grendizer fan, but ever since I first saw this thing, I knew I'd end up passing...even if the price were more reasonable.
I'd almost prefer if this were a more proper SD version of Grendizer (with the rest of his face and minus the tail)...but then again, I wouldn't end up forking up triple-digits for something like that either.
Somehow, this thing lacks the charm of the original Grendizer design...and the colors are a bit of a turn-off. And speaking of the colors, you guys are talking like the proper Grendizer colorway has been cancelled. Is that true?

I dont think the grendizer colour has been cancelled- I think I have seen it for sale, I may be mistaken though....

These are from France, so the dollar/Euro exchange rate is jacking up the price.

I had 5 of these and they're all gone. Pretty hot figure. And yeah, the dollar is weak, so all imported toys are more expensive than they used to be.

i like it, the only reason it has a face like that and a tail is so mist can make it his own, its not a sd version more of an homeage incorporated into his usual style

Spotted this same version at Devil Doll Records' site for $155, if anyone is interested. It's still a lot to pay, but then there are only 349 pieces. Also found this while doing a search:
http://www.basaradan.com/web/product_info.php?info=p984&XTCsid=32c601e404af34b818e8ed684da15557
and the original colorway as well:
http://toysrevil.blogspot.com/2007/10/about-mist-x-bonustoyzs-goldorus-secret.html
I have to say...the original colorway is really nice, but only 149 pieces. Booooo!!

Hehe...I have that Max Factory Grendizer...and a couple others.
I kinda liked that CG animation on Basaradan's site. Believe me, I really wanna like this thing.
I'd like to see a proper, robot toy-style review, rather than just pics. There's that one Youtube vid of a prototype's regular fist shooting, but I wanna see the final product and how well the full screw-crusher punch shoots (yes, SAMBA, I'm interested in missile-firing vinyls! ).
If that gimmick's cool, and the joints are robust enough not to droop, I may consider the traditional Grendizer colorway...
We'll see...

It is nice to see some Super Robot love. Those Grandizers are awesome. I remember having a couple of those in the pic when I was just a little boy and of course, like all little boys, they were abused or lost. It makes me happy to see toys based off of Super Robots and new issues of Super Robot toys (like Revoltech's stuff).

Grendizer was called Goldorak in french, hence the Goldorus reference.

His hands shot off(i think i may have lost one). Took me ages to find one as well, as it was a little time after they'd stopped showing it on tv. I need to go and start looking for it now
