I was shown one of those a while back, and I can't remember who's logo that is. Maybe Chad knows?

from what i know of the standard size marushin only 6 dinos were made .
t-rex
allosaur
brontosaur
stegasaur
styracosaur
mammoth

Looking at Spacemonkey66's photo of the 5 dinos, the one in the upper right does not seem to be on this list. Is it some type of long necked dino or a pleisiasaur, or ? How about a close up of that one Spacemonkey.

Sorry you lost out on that mammoth. They don't come nicer than that. YJA seems to be getting like ebay with last minute bidding being the norm.

Here's some more dinos...These are by Marusan from the movie One Million Years BC. They are standard size and were part of the first run of vinyl toys ever produced by Marusan in 1966. These three were later remade by Bullmark. Marusan also made the giant sea turtle (Archlon?) from the movie (you can see him on the header card). Archlon is very rare and was not remade bu Bullmark.

These are some very neat dinos made by Nakajima. The Bronto measures 20 cm long. I know Jim has these guys, plus a Triceratops, in yellow vinyl.
Image

This is a fun set of very small dinos I picked up in a shop in Japan. They are unmarked. They are made of vinyl and seem to be rotocast and not mold blown. The heads are jointed. The tallest one is 5cm tall and the longest one is 7 cm long. Each one came in a variety of colors.
Image

I don't know if these would be dinos or pachimon. The one on the left stands 14cm tall and has the M inside 3 circles logo mentioned above. I was told once that was a Marusan logo, but I really doubt that. It does seem to be trying to fool people into thinking it is a Marusan logo, though, because san in Japanese is 3. The one on the left I also picked up in Japan and is unmarked. I think this type of toy is called a balloon blower because of the hole in the mouth. I doubt if you could actually blow up a balloon with one because the vinyl is not that squishy. I saw several others of this type of toy hiding among Jims collection pix including a very cool Jiras rip-off.
Image

These are all the ones I have that have not already been shown. Hope you like 'em and let's see some more.

Here is a pic of the header card and paper insert for the prehistoric yellow bird. For some reason I thought this was made by Daikyo?

The red brontosaurus in the 2nd last picture posted by vintagevinyl on page 2 of this thread is from the TV series "Monster Prince" or "Kaiju Ouji" made in 1967 by P-Production. I believe they called him Nessie in the program. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is but they also made a couple of other characters from this series.

Post Re: DINOS! DINOS DINOS!
Looks like there is a seventh standard size dino in the Marushin line...a petradon.

Image

Image

He measures in at 16 cm tall and 24 cm from wing tip to wing tip. I love that the headers from this series features the individual dino. Mine came "MIB" but when I took him out I noticed a line of glue along the wing joints on both faces. Either he was not MIB or that is the way it came from the factory.

I also recently noticed that the Nakajima dinos have light-up mechanisms inside. I finally got the triceratops to finish out my set and noticed it was heavier than the others. There was a battery still inside the mechanism. When you squeeze the body, the metal tab makes the connection and lights up the little bulb. All of these guys have this feature. The vinyl is a little squishier than the one with the changeable heads and the tail joint is different.

That Pteranodon is stunning... if it's the same one that I saw for sale a while back, I'm glad you picked it up!

I really like the pose on that one- the older Pterosaur sculpts usually are either stuck in flight mode or given that weird 'Kingdom of the Dinosaurs' stance.
