Post paypal help.
first of all,

a) i don't have a credit card and i'm not going to get one anytime soon.

paypal is pretty much flawless EXCEPT it takes '5-7 working days' (is this for everyone or just australian?) to get money out of my bank account and into my paypal account. even though that is a fucking long time, most of the time it actually takes a day or two longer than that which is a joke. by the time i get money in there usually the item i wanted to buy in the first place is long gone (apart from a few nice dudes on here who held stuff for me). unless i have the right amount in there at the time (which is rare) buying limited stuff from ebay/online stores is fairly impossible.

basically i'm asking is there any sort of way i can set it up to just automatically take the money out and send it to someone, or am i stuck with waiting a week for shit to clear unless i get a CC?

thanks for any help/suggestions in advance.

I think Paypal says it usually takes 3-5 days but I've talked to someone there and they said it really depends on your bank so you might want to see if your bank can do anything

I don't have a credit card at all either and never plan on having one. But I can automatically debit out of my account as long as you have a debit card/bank card. Debit cards are awesome and most banks issue them. Here's what you do:

Go to profile
In the center column (Financial) click on credit/debit card
Click on add card and add your debit card.

I only know this because I got a new card and was pissed my payments were takign forever to clear and then realized...ahhh I got a new card. Paypal kinda sucks when you have to have it clear your bank account to paypal.

I thought a credit/debit card was required to sign up for a PayPal account?

Yeah anything that's a card and will access your bank account will work. It's the same principal as taking money out of your account but you avoid the delays of having it transfer from bank account to paypal. Just direct for some reason. I'll never own a Credit Card again. It's too tempting to spend money you don't have. Good luck.

no, all you need is a verified bank account and that's it.

and lixx, yeah that's the exact reason i won't ever get a CC either. i went to the bank today and its going to take a week or so for them to send my debit card to me. then i have to go back in, close my cheque account and switch it all to the new debit account and it should be all fine. there's a bit of hassle letting my work know about my new account so they can put my pay in there but nothing major. hopefully changing my paypal details will be straight forward enough. thanks for the help.

i'm 20 and earn next to nothing (also saving to go to japan in april). i don't want to risk getting into debt and then having to worry about paying it all off, too much drama. just seems 'dangerous' to me.
