My compliments to the layout and presentation in general. I could tell a lot of work went into the details. The retro stuff was educational as always. Seeing the complete RxH spread was really a thrill if not frustrating. So many cool releases that I missed. But overall I've got to say the Ink and Paper section was my favorite.

The mook has washed up on our shores as well.

Wow, what can I say? I was reading all of the praise with a grain of salt, but the mook really exceeded anything that I expected. I just love the way the pages and cover feel- the contrast of the glossy and matte finish paper. The partial and close-up shots used for the SB section were my favorite out of the photo galleries, but the most interesting part of the mook to me is the Q&A with toy collectors. Horvath's photo is great. Toy hunting at Target. I've been there. I'd definitely like to see more of that in the next volume.

Thanks for all of the work that I am sure went into this. Now I am a believer.

I just got mine in Asia. Really happy that I finally received it. It wasn't that long considering it's holidays and near the end of the year.

The mook landed here today - I have really been enjoying looking over it. the articles and intros are very interesting. I have been swooning over the astro-mu section almost as much as the RxH section.

Great job on this one guys - the layout is looks great and pic quality seems top notch - even has the 'new book smell' that Im loving. haha.

Just to clarify, the chaosman/ chaosfighter description on pg. 269 seems to be backward - the chaosman has head of chaos and body + arms of mutant head. chaos fighter has the chaos arms, I think this is noted backwards here. Also, I think the ref. letters for the Oni-Head on pg. 131 seem to be labeled "MO", inconsistent with the "OH" abbreviation on pg 130.

I really like that Mori sited the ninja turtles as influence for the mutant head. thats punk rock IMHO.

I love the mook, but I do have a complaint. I don't know if I'm in the minority, but I don't like the the layout of the secret base section. the black bars could have been smaller so we could get more picture... and the pictures got too fancy. I would have liked it more plain and checklist style, or like the RxH section or the checklist in the old S7 issue. I really like the group shots in the section though. maybe i'm just boring

pretty much same thoughts here -
really took a while to like it.
and still on the fence with the layout:
article on marusan/bullmark is great but would preferred a little
more simple layout that u get more easily.
the orogamis with the marusan/bullmark toys is pretty tricky when
u have to turn the mook upside down to see figs.

had to read sb and rxh part a couple of times before
realizing all the figs are shown. layout fooled me thinking
its only some nice shots of preferred rare figures.

else it is great!!! ...no doubt. have to get home now
to read some more articles and check sick collection of the nbhd dude.

I finally dragged my sorry ass over to Super7 and picked up a mook. Got to meet Alex too---super nice guy.

The mook is so slick, so professional. I was struck with a strange feeling, I found myself overwhelmed by the fact that this mook was the greatest vinyl resource I'd ever seen, but not just that---the fact that it's an english language publication, a product of outsider love, makes it even more special. Also, the fact that it's the first in a series cements it's place as the single most important academic study of Japanese
Sofubi that will likely ever be.

The section on collectors is very cool. I hope the package artwork feature is continued in later issues.

Nice job and totally worth the wait!

Just a quick thought on the collectors feature. Some of the shots were taken at places that indicate the general location of the collector, for example the photo of Muton with the "Hollywood" sign looming in the background. By contrast it really hit me to see the photo of Chad in New Orleans in front of what looks like a wrecked home. Just wanted to say that this cool poignant detail didn't go unnoticed.

I can honestly say I really don't think mine got shipped. I never recieved a tracking # or anything. It's all cool though, wrote and asked the proper officials. I'll just post a very very very late "AWESOME" once it hits.
