I've been really trying to cut down on spending lately and focusing my collection to where I don't feel like I need to keep spending a ton of money all the time to be really stoked on it.

my rule has always been

once the bills are paid and the monthly retirement money salted away and ALL other real life needs are taken care of ( this means NO credit card debt etc) then I am free to spend any or all extra money on any goddamn thing I please. I mean, wtf is it about anyway? PLEASURE.

u only live once.

I work with people who go out on the weekends and spend 2-3 hundred clams, eating, drinking and partying and most are broke when monday comes and have terrible hangovers and not a damn thing to show for it..I just take my extra money and buy toy's

That's how I look at it. Rather blow some $'s on a couple of toys every fortnight than waste it on being a barfly. Its too easy to blow cash on crap. Everyone's into something, dvd's, video games, eating out. The problem arises when your into a few things... its about focus.
