When i first ordered the original set, the 'Five Dimensions Monster Betarus' (exploding head guy) was the one I was most interested in, but I quickly discovered that the other two are equally as awesome. These little toys have a lot of character.

Check out Ilanena's Flickr page. Looks like we're going to see the first two sets of gaijin mayo kaiju.

cool, I didn't want all 3 figures to be the same color, so I'm glad I can get 3 different ones in one set.

Mook you're killing me with pics of those minis. I liked the original GID set and wasn't really interested with the last few set colors. Now the thing with the crazy eyes is getting actually eyes painted on...I might just have to get one of these soon. Why does all this good stuff have to come out at the worst possible time- xmas?!

When I bought the set at Hobby Complex, the guy there told me that they were based on the Namagon, Garamon and Gomess characters from Ultra Q. The orange version coming out in December looked really nice. I think I like the glow set best though.

Wow, that's a very creative interpretation of those characters.
I really like the TT version in yellow with red and green accents. The colors set it apart from the other sets.

Just the paint scheme was based on the 3 Ultra Q characters (ie: the Namagon eyes).

Your photos are superb, as always, hypermook. I really enjoy your use of lighting in outdoor and indoor photos.

Ilanena's Flickr has what looks like three sets, including one clear, that will be Kaiju Taro exclusives.
