someone with a color captain...heat it up and pop it open. you should be able to see the base vinyl color.

Heat it and pop it open, it would be way easier just to splice it down the back in a non noticeable spot to check.

New suits all the way.
I read a snippet on the VI board talking about other companies that did suits, but the suits weren't painted well or clearly weren't as nice as the SB suits. Anyway even if they're not as good I'd still like to see them, anyone have info on this? I just got into suits recently, so I don't know much about the history.

Other suits - DSH made some, I suggest talking to guy redwing or visiting the visible innards board for the full 411 on DSH, as I know very few people that collect them. Also, don;t forget Skull Toys, which is my favorite of all the new 12" suits.
As far as SB, we have a few MAJOR SB announcements soon. Suffice to say, the mother of all kick-ass sets is less than 30 days away from starting.
New sculpt - you bet, it is actually in process already, and we are patiently waiting for the final look on it.
New Brain, oh yes, there are a couple with fire on them, and one that is so hot, I dare not mention it too much for fear of setting of the fire alarm. There is serious heat starting February 13th.....and maybe even a killer warmup before then!
