The Plaseebo Custom / Miscreation Toys
MONSTER MASH UP
Jeremi Rimel of Miscreation Toys and I have a little more in common then just producing our own art toys, we both love to customize toys as well! We have admired each other's custom figure work for quite some time.
Customizing each other's toys was bound to happen, so it just seemed natural that Jeremi suggested we exchange production figures to customize. I sent Jeremi one of my "Legend of Plaseebo" mummies in a sarcophagus and Jeremi sent me one of the first "Think-Up" busts. During the time we worked on the
figures, we didn't show each other exactly what we were up to.
A few months later when we had completed the customs, photos were exchanged and it is safe to say we BLEW EACH OTHERS SOCKS OFF!
Here is Jeremis take on my "Legend of Plaseebo" Mummy:
BEFORE
AFTER
"Customizing the Plaseebo Mummy was no easy task but was definitely a fun project, for someone as myself who creates rather "unusual" customs, the Legend of Plaseebo Awaken figure is already a true oddity itself. I wanted to make use of the parts as much as I could so I crafted the sarcophagus into a wall-mountable shrine that can hold and display the figure. I also used the sarcophagus to make an additional wearable head-dress accessory. I did some light sculpting work to form a more rotting and worm infested version of the figure. Boney skeletal feet replaced the original legs to have the mummy stand in the shrine base."

Here is my take on Jeremis Think-Up:
BEFORE:
My basic concept for customizing Jeremis "Think-Up" was to create a hypothetical portrait of the psychopathic pediatrician that preformed the unspeakable operations on all those poor unfortunate autopsy babies in the basement of Miscreation Toys. Seeing this Dr. as a sort of modern day Dr. Frankenstein and his monster rolled into one, I thought it only appropriate to add some spooky LED electronics and a glow in the dark brain cover.
While it took a few months to complete, I enjoyed every minute.
The original Think-UP retails at about $30 each from Miscreation Toys and select retailers listed at
www.miscreationtoys.com It comes in two base style variations, Standard and Creature (with tentacles).
Enjoy,
Bob
