Post KT White Quandry: To Paint or not To Paint?
Hey gang - so I got my box of KT White in and after seeing these beauties in the vinyl flesh I ran into a bit of a quandry. While waiting for the box to get shipped I had planned on painting them, resculpting, doing mods and whatnot to the figures. Out of the box, though, my brain sorta went bye-bye. The pure whiteness of these, oddly enough, was even more stark than, say, an unpainted flesh-tone or all-black. they reminded me of some odd, old religious relic :D

So the problem I ran into is "what to do?". Buying more is out of the question right now and I'm split half way on painting them or not painting them.

Anyone else run into this?

got my white one the other day and I'm leaving it. I thought I would do something with it be opted not to. I think some people on this board paint extremely well and it blows me away.. but I tend to lean toward official releases and the odd custom now and again.

And personally I like the fact that it solid white. I even want to buy my first chaos because it's so great.

I planned on leaving it white . . . it arrived trashed but the good people at KT are sending a replacement (fingers crossed it's boxed!) so I may patch up the original and have a dabble . . . . best of both worlds!

Why don't you just get another one? One unpainted and one to custom.

Or if you can't afford a second keep this one naked, than when you can afford it get more to paint. Than you'll have time to plan. It's not like there's limits on them. THE WORLD IS YOURS WITH NAKED KAIJU@!

I bought two of each so I could leave one blank without the guilty feelings.

send it to me, Ill paint em

I understand the 'relic' feeling of these guys. They seem iconic, screams true prototype as compared to 'a blank' figure to me.

But Im getting some to paint, some to keep as is. Really, in white they look pretty sharp.
I think for some of them, like Thrashman and Mightyn, the white look better than some of the colorways.

Like mentioned this is supposed to be an unlimited run. So I'm sure these wont be hard to get. I have a thing for unpainted figs and white is the purist from for me. So I will definitely keep a white chaos unpainted in my collection. No to mention I wil change to eye to red and have a bootleg of the red lucky bag for years ago ;). But I do totally plan on doing some gentile paint apps on them, and white is a perfect base for gentle colorways.
