that's F-ing Sick! The fact that it's wood and articulated kills everything I've seen in the past couple of years.

wood be ideal if this was shipped via boat. I think it will cut cost by two thirds. Better yet ship from Asia to destinations in Asia. Me dream on.

Very nice!

I think Frank has let Rommel ship directly from his place to international customers before? I could be imagining that though I hope he will because I can't afford shipping from US.

I'll guarantee it does.

The very few wood species with a specific gravity over 1 are WAY too hard to use for carving, and would be tough to find in large-enough pieces to make this even in the obvious segments. Lignum vitae, leadwood, princewood, crabwood, some ironwood varieties - all the really heavy woods are slow-growing Caribbean species, and don't tend to get huge. They are slow-growing to begin with, and live for the most part in thin, alkaline soils. The specimens that did manage to get huge were virtually all harvested by the British Navy for uses like pulley shafts, ball bearings, etc. in the 17 and 18C.

I have some crabwood from Key Largo, about 7" diameter, which has over 200 growth rings per inch - it took more than 800 years for it to even grow to 7" diameter.

I'd guess from the pics that this is made from acacia wood (or some Philippine variety thereof).

That is some serious skill from Rommel. This evil brings me back to my childhood when we had most of our favorite toys made from wood. Why do I have to live in Canada

True there's lots of it everywhere, but do you know how long it will take me to chop through 200 growth rings? I'm no physical specimen!

I still find it tough to imagine that almost EVERYONE is getting laid every week, I mean, does that include 85-year-olds? Or do people tend to marry young in Greece?
