I also voted blind trade. I just participated in a canvas trade over at the other forum and it went great. 20 artists sent their names to someone who blindly pulled a name from a hat and another name for who to send it to. No one has complained about the piece they received or sent so far, and 17/20 have been posted. The requirements were minimum 8"x8" canvas. I sent a 16"x20" canvas, this one:

  it wasn't your style i was worried about, haha it's mine
it think it's because i have been doing these fucked up dolls lately and i was all excited about making one for the trade. but i was worried who ever got it would hate it, maybe i should stop being so self concious.
i'll go with the crowd, lets go blind.

yeah i just made this two head girl/ human torso(quad amputee) with hino esque boils all over their faces, and a cute little embroidered tattoo on their stomachs that says "together forever" in a banner with a craniophaligic skull. and a frankenstein patch work heart on their chest with little lightning bolts. i was going to post a picture but i just spent 1/2 an hour in cord hell trying to figure out which cord connects to camera to the lap top, where is my husband when i need him.. haha maybe later tonight.
so guess i will get sewing....
this should be really fun, there is so much talent on this board. after this is all said and done, maybe it would be fun to to open up a thread for people to post their art facilitate trades for toys or other art, or they can just post prices. i want to own more original art and i think it would be a great way for us all to expand our collections, at prices we could afford.

I voted for blind... I think its just more fun to get something mysterious in the mail. Plus, not getting what you wanted will only spurn more interest in the next trade...like real blind boxes!! ok maybe i'm overexaggerating, but I still like the blind idea.
Maybe there should be a theme to make it more fun?

Someone needs to figure out how this is all going to go down. Are we posting the pieces we make or posting the pieces we got? When will we know who gets what? We all know the size restriction and due date (Feb 15th), but we need more solid details. Is there going to be a cut-off date for people to join? So many questions.....sorry.

Trade will be lottery. I will pull names out from a hat, I have lots of, and I will PM the artist who to send it to. I will also pm everyone who's they got. Anything after the 15th will be for next time. We will know who got what from everyone posting the pics of what they got. Maybe we can do this a monthly thing so we always have a goal to do one a month.

I can't wait to finish my piece. I just need to know, are there any specific mediums or are some people going to be doing pencil sketches and such? Or is it whatever you want it to be? Just curious!

Other than that, you can make whatever you want....dolls (like jessie did), sculptures, paint, draw, whatever you want.
