This sux! I tried to have Celga bid on a Balzac item on yja but the seller wrote no foreigners or services, which means celga or rinkya,etc.... Celga told me they are ashamed someone would be so racist. I hope this doesn't start happening with more sellers. :(

I think they put it there because they were getting requests/questions in English which they couldn't understand and were getting ticked off with it.

I'm not sure if its meant to be blanket racism (hope not anyway).

I can understand it if some hard-core collectors in Japan are getting a little pissed at gaijin coming in, drving up prices and picking up all the good stuff.

We certainly can't generalize and that may not be the reason for that specific auction. But maybe it is. That's why you should sign up for a Celga gold account and just bid on it anyway.

I bought an item through Celga a little while ago that had this same statement attached to it. I simply inquired with Celga as to whether this was an issue. In the end it didn't seem to be because they simply went ahead and bought it for me.

But on a lighter note, the toy Nazis do exist here and have for the 12 years I have been coming and going. Sometimes I have bid on items from a certain place and laugh cause if they new whitey was bidding they would be pissed, these same people have refused to sell to me and my friends at toy events in the past.

I've never encountered it personally, but I've heard a couple of stories about resistance to gaijin buying toys online and in Japanese stores. There's an attitude among a few collectors there that these toys are made for Japan, and they should stay in the country.

I say good for them, they can send me all of their Hawaii Bullmarks so they can be repatriated.

Personally, when I sell stuff on eBay I don't allow foreign bidders. This isn't because I'm a racist, though, I'm simply too lazy to ship internationally. ;p

Only one solution. Circle of Death.

Or Thunderdome.

I'm not picky.

I bought something on YJA that had the same stipulation, and the buyer blocked Celga from buying it... so they used an alternate account and i still got it. :D

Same here. They told me they actually had to try a 3rd account before the bid finally went through! So, I openly appoligize to you mister racist YJA seller...for not only did an ugly American Gaijin win your auction, but a New Yorker at that!!!!!!! :D

It is funny to hear you all complain about the Japanese not selling out side of Japan. I have to deal with it alot myself...from America. Many many sellers won't ship outside of America. They won't even take my money and ship to an American address. And when they do sell outside, often the shipping is crazy.

This usually is not as much for americans, I think you are reading into it a bit. It is usually a default setting, just like on ebay, because international shipping is a pain.

Those that really do not like "foreigners" buying their toys are worried about HK/Chinese first and foremost usually, with Americans and Europeans further down the list. I definitely have had problems, especially with rare items, as the dealers in question do not want their "heritage" sold out to the highest bidder or leaving the country. It is frustrating, but unfortunately part of the game. I would not take much of the stuff on yahoo as a direct point towards any of us, just a default "avoid the pain in the ass of dealing with international wire transfers and shipping" point of view.

maybe I'm lost in translation somewhere, but when did a rare piece of vynil become "heritage"? Here son, take this very rare and limited edition BXH toy and take very good care of it. It has been handed down from my father to him by your great grandfather. Whatever you do, don't let it leave the country.... or get in the hands of the chinese.

Do you guys see Disney as iconic to America or American heritage?
I think that's the direction they are coming from. Not so much the toys themselves, but the culture the represent.
