i had one of these also as a kid
it was a hand me down from an aunt much later than 1983
apple IIe
1.02 MHz processor
64K RAM
green and yellow screen
as far as i can tell in 1983 this would have cost around 1395 or around $2900 today!
i miss you, choplifter!

LOL
My dad didn't want to pay $'s for an Apple II so somehow he found one of these. It's an Apple compatible computer made in Australia / Hong Kong with a German made motherboard.
A Medfly apparently is a Mediterranean fruit fly that attacks apples....
Zork, Lode Runner & Choplifter was as good as it got.

unfortunately, the oregon trail on my apple IIe wasn't nearly as good as the oregon trail on the school computers at the time.
i remember there were only about 10 of the first macintosh computers at my elementary school. the "lab" they were in was a locked room underneath the bleachers in the gym. we got to use them once a month or so as a class playing number munchers and oregon trail
