 SPEED RACER Anyone seen this? Looks like Speed Racer is getting a Hollywood makeover and heading onto the big screen.

Hmmm... interesting trailer. Okay. I'll bite. I'll pay my $7.50 when it comes out, and cross my fingers they didn't completely screw the pooch on this one. If it sucks 15 minutes into it, I'm sneaking into the theater next door watching Cloverfield. Again.

Isn't it written and directed by the same guys who turned "V for Vendetta" into an unwatchable turd?
Really quite an achievement considering "Vendetta" was masterfully written by Allen Moore and actually story boarded for them as well by David Loyd.
Plus "The Matrix" is basically "Dark City" done with a huge Hollywood budget and less panache.
It'd be nice if "Speed Racer" didn't suck but given the "writer/director" team very low expectations seem in order.

Ummm... given the source material, isn't this pretty much doomed to suck? Speed Racer was a lousy cartoon. It had crappy animation and idiotic stories. Don't get me wrong. I loved it! But, I loved it because it was so bad. Throwing money and big name actors at this idea isn't going to make it good.
Errr... I'll go watch it, anyway.
