mmmm... I'm more than a little worried about this movie. I have a feeling I'm going to be more than a little disappointed.
What I am excited about, and have enormously high hopes for is this:

If you have no hope in the first place, than you CAN'T be disappointed!
I'm gonna check it out anyway, but after Romero's recent track record (yes Roger, I've seen Bruiser ugh!) I'm not expecting much. But a secret little part of me still hopes...................

Yeah I never go into movies with much hope anymore. I usually end up disappointed, thinking that I really need to start writing more because most scripts are so full of holes anymore, and I could do better. Some are just utter shit.
Romero has slid alot since Night Of The Living Dead. Maybe it was the time. Movies in the 60's and 70's didn't necessarily have a message but were reflections on our society as a whole. Today with all of Hollywood's CGI effects teams and multi -million dollar budgets they still cannot convey that -most of the time. Sometimes in the horror genre -less is more. The feeling of not being able to escape, the suspense of knowing what you face or how you face it- is better than a load of effects and awful acting.
rambling as usual...

Just watched 'Undead or Alive' on DVD. Quite entertaining, has some funny moments. Anyone see? Comedy/Horror/Western

That New Michele Soavi movie sounds totally amazing!
I'm stoked!
And... I am pretty excited about the Hellraiser remake.. I never go into these things with expectations, expectations are for suckers! This is horror we are talking about!

Agree with you 100% and I'd like to throw in the new 'Day of the Dead' remake into head to head competetion with it as worst zombie movie ever, or at least for 2008. I think the new Day of the Dead would win for worst zombie movie ever though. Truely not even worth the dvd it's printed on. Chris

 Re: Diary of the Dead
There are bad horror films and BAD horror films. Bad horror films, like Blood Feast, are great. BAD horror films like Diary of the Dead, are just shit.

+1 I watched this awhile back and was really looking forward to it! I'm a big fan of the Night/Dawn/Day and even Land was OK. Dairy was just plain BAD!

Dairy of the Dead made me lactose intolerant. ;p
The Day of the Dead remake was atrocious. Some might have problems with the running zombies in the Dawn remake, but these zombies were crawling around like Spider-Man.

 Re: Diary of the Dead
I saw this at a $1 showing. I liked it more than "Land" and about as much as "Day" but that doesn't say MUCH. Everyone talked like every word they said was so self-righteous and deep maaaaaan! George....STOP! PLEASE! WE GOT THE MESSAGE IN DAWN! STOP!
Also I don't think acid would eat through ones skull that fas. Anyway, it kept my interest more than a lot of zombie flicks.
