Post toy horror stories.
what are yours? any big falls, displays collapsing, limbs falling off, imploding/exploding, stuff being stolen, little kids or pets getting at them? luckily i haven't had any major ones yet:

i had a 400% bearbrick fall about 5m onto a title floor and survived, just got a bit scratched.
i had a small scratch on a kaws bus stop set, went to get it off with some solution stuff and tissue and made it fifty times worse.
also had a few 100% bearbricks fade in the sun somehow, even though my blinds were closed.

DONT NOT TOUCH KUBRICKS WITH ANY SOLVENT OR A FLOURESCENT/UV LIGHTSOURCE, they will get fucked up. One of my old customers is a huge Kubrick collector and much of his collection was damaged by being in a display case with flourescent lighting. Flourescent light sucks, period, it will damage all toys eventually. It messes up vinyl colors and fades them and will make your clear figures turn yellow.

i try to make the most of the space i got. so i stagger out some figures about an inch or so apart, which covers the space. but it also creates a high potential for maximum casualties when one of them takes a head dive. it was like it was happening in slow motion. before i could react, dudes were crashing into the floor at mach 5. that was back when i didnt have carpeted floors. now when i walk past my shelf, i can feel eyes on me.

I use those Mr. Clean eraser pads. they take out scuffs, as long as u dont put too much elbow grease in. scratches too, u just gotta pay attention to what ur doing. otherwise, youll work clean through it

mine would have to be my Dalek Spacebot 13. which is pretty rare (only about 40 escaped before production was scrapped) one day I noticed it had black greasy scuff marks on it. furious that maybe one of my roomates got marks on it and because i have massive ocd's I tried getting them off. They would not come off with soap and water and like a complete idiot I tried using goop gone. well the spots are gone and so is the yellow paint in two spots now... grrrrrr

the very moment I busted this $125 die-cast Minerva X Black Siren Limited Edition out of the box and put her on the top shelf of the Detolf, I elbowed the glass and she took a huge shelf dive.......

and busted her foot right off. no amount of super-glue would fix her....

now, she is just........."handi-capable" lol....!

Christmas of 1985 I got some of my first Transformers- Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, Jazz and Wheeljack.

My older brother broke Jazz's head/windshield off about 5 minutes after I opened it.

Amidst all the wrapping paper on the floor my father stepped on and crushed Wheeljack

And my younger brother (he was 4 I was 6) wanted Megatron and I wasn't letting him. He grabbed his arm and I grabbed the rest of him.... he ended up with just the arm, I ended up with the rest.

Optimus Prime's arm broke off in a similar struggle much later, but those three didn't make past christmas morning.

not toy related but Ive left vinyl(records) in the car at night after shopping. Just to wake up in a panic and run out to find them looking like fried eggs through my window.

alright, here'e mine.

i was 4 and had finally convinced my parents to buy me an optimus prime. i was crazy excited and played with him all day. when the time came to go to bed i left him downstairs, in robot mode standing up against the front of the couch.

i wake the next morning and run downstairs to find optimus broken in half. he was broken at the waist, so i had an optimus torso and a pair of legs. no one had been in the living room and no one knew what had happened. he was just broken. they wouldn't buy me another one either, and i remained optimus-less for the rest of my childhood.

I was young. It was the mid 80's. I some how scored the Voltron set. You know the all metal heavy as hell one. I never really had shit growing up. Busted He-mans, weaponless Star Wars, Lincoln logs. I did have Lion-O's Eye of Thundera but that a whole other story.

Any way. I dropped my Voltron, fully assembled, a few feet and it was fine. Not even a scratch and I was outside. This convinced me it was indestructible. I was enamored. I thought it was time to show all the kids in the neighborhood the true power of Voltron. It required a demonstration.

I gathered everyone up went to the roof of my house and promptly lobbed it off. I don't know if at that time I'd ever seen anything shatter like that, maybe I had but I don't think so. I remember this being the first time I thought, "My god, I am dumb". To this day whenever I do something really stupid I think back to that exact moment.
