Oh I do respect them. The IKB figures are some of my favorite toys ever partially because they're so crude. I'd just like to see another take on it.

 Standard vs. Mini
Roger wrote: meary wrote: +1 vote for standard sized Smogun. The original was obviously sculpted by an 8-year-old with a spoon. I love it but I'd like to see what a good sculptor can do with the character. Whoa, whoa, whoa, that sculptor who did the original Smogon was probably hired to do it in a day or two for the price of a Gargamel lucky bag. Have a little respect...
i too, respect them. okay, the whole where should i put the arms thing might not have sounded like it, but i do. actually, i have the hukko repos of hedoran, smogun, zag, and mightin, and i love them all. they are classic sculpts and very interesting. what i was getting at though is that the gargamel sculpts have obviously taken longer to do, therefore having more detail and a more designed look to them. but in the end, i love both...

Hokkukudo made a standard Mightyn. I wouldn't doubt that the Tetran and Beralgon are on their way.

I dig both the Tetran and the Beralgon! I would love to see either one full size!

They have both out. Hukkukudo's done standards of all of these guys except Deathra, but theirs are reproductions.
What I like about Gargamel is their style, if they did standards of these dudes they'd all be a little different and stylish. Not as rough.

I'm more of a standard size guy than mini. I understand the cuteness appeal of the mini and I admit having a mini or two on a crowded standard shelf breaks it up a little, but overall standard is the way to go. Standards to me are the original interpretation of the sculpt. Also I never understood mini pricing. Most are barely half the size of the standard yet they fetch 2/3 of the cost of the original. Guess that's clever marketing but for me paying 80 for a standard is much better than 60 for a mini. Just my 2 cents...

I love both the gargamel and the ikb sculpts. When it comes to the standing hedoran the ikb sculpt wins hands down. The gargamel one looks like it's taken too many trips to the buffet.

See, that's what I DON'T get. I thought we collected monsters. If you want something cute collect Hello Kitty or all that "cute" Western vinyl.
The only "cute" that I like is stuff like Godzilla on a trike - he's still a monster...he just happens to be wreaking havoc from a toddlers toy!

a cute monster is still a monster. take minilla for example. plus, i still prefer a cute monster over a thug-stance bunny...
