self-promoting without any contribution to this community is certainly whack, no question there. however, jumping straight to harsh insults, 'fuck you go away', and all that is a bit much. this person may have developed a strong interest in japanese kaiju toys and become a valued member of the community if the response to this post was more like 'yo, thats not the way to get started here, its like this....', but it is more likely now that they will leave with a bitter taste about this genre of toys and its community.

maybe this was just a whack attempt to pawn off some hack-work, or milk people or whatever else, but until we know for sure, everyone deserves to be treated with more respect than that.

generating future sales by tip-toeing around and being extra-fake-nice to people is not my concern. part of my job is monitoring this message board, and i just saw something that i thought was worth bringing up. its not the first time ive voiced my opinion on this sort of thing.

its more about just showing people a bit more respect. if he was promoting some whack shit on his first post (which seems to be the case, although the original post was edited out before i got here) then by all means, call it out. just please be a bit more respectful about it. i dont think anyone here intends to be excessively harsh, but message board wit sometimes crosses the line into disrespectful.

another curiosity of mine is that in this post i have noticed replies saying that this message board was created to exclude western vinyl, or "western crap" as i've seen it called. i'm not quoting that or anything, i just caught some posts referring to this. i may have my geography wrong, but american works is considered western vinyl, right? if this is the case, why is there a section called American Idols?

Well, there are western artists that have done collaborative projects with Japanese vinyl manufacturers.
