Ugh, I noticed there's some clear Skull Toys Gatchamon on the Blobpus display. Those little bastards are so hard to find.
Also, the new DxSxH Gamorrean-esque fight figure looks pretty damn cool.

The numbers are on the Cronic LBs aren't nearly as insane as we first thought. For example, there are:
- 5 different Mavs
- 6 different Nougakis
- 4 or 5 different Zyurais...
So, if you focus on one character, it's still manageable, and I wouldn't say Naoki was trying to "thwart" completists. In fact, he has released 5 versions of figures in past LBs and at past shows.
I think it was just the range that really took us by surprise with the '08 bags, since he gave the wide-range multiple version treatment to nearly every character.
Same goes for Real Head. I think he just went for variety with the mini-Chaos figs, plus they were sold as a set.
So personally I think these guys were just dishing out a variety, not trying to make it hard for folks to stay complete on a figure.

BTW, I believe the Eyezon that someone linked to above was painted by Cronic.

Looks like something Cronic would do if you are referring to the gorgeous translucent one I linked up earlier in this thread...

Yea, those skull spacemen are cool as hell.
Anyone know what's up with the Walder and Muton Micromen (are they Micromen, or knock-offs like the VFC figures)? Also, the other 500 yen guy shown in the picture of them -- What's his story?

It is interesting that, in the almost exclusively character-driven world of vinyl, virtually the only visual ironies we see fall into one of two categories of sculpts: 1 - Fierce critters turned cute. (Garg Zag, etc., etc., etc.) 2 - Cute critters turned fierce. (Usagi-gon, etc., etc., etc.)
I guess super deformed is another class by itself.

I'm glad to see someone else digs these, too. These are officially big time on my want list. Toygraph is easily my favorite company right now. Baby Zagoran figs are great, too. I might just have to get one of the Gamera Racers as well.
