It seems possible to me that the clear brown was limited to 10 pieces. Kaji-san may have had extra clear brown vinyl after producing the amber Blobpus pieces, which was then used to produce a first run of the Diablo. This seems similar to the Kaijin Docross, which was first released as a 'prototype' at Patchi-Kaiju in 2007, cast in clear green vinyl.
The articulated tentacles on the mouth are pretty neat. I'm still undecided as to whether I like it or not- some evidence of its connection to the Blobpus story might sway me. I do like that the arm extension from the Last Kaiju was used to tie in this sculpt.

its about bigger then a typical fight figure.

looks like some kind of oversized citadel minature to me. Not keen on this at all.

'Fraid I'm with mondo on this one ... But then, that only means a) more of them will be available for y'all and b) less $ will be in the pockets of the 'competition' for the items I do chase.
I do think the articulated-'reversible' mouth/beard/tentacles/mandibles is a good idea, and I'd betcha we see that concept 'borrowed' by others before too long.

Actually has been done before. This is articulated and rotates:

Right, but that mouthpiece has all-tentacles -- Essentially identical top and bottom, right? (Incidentally, I love that sculpt, though I've not bought any yet because it seems there are quite a lot of paints, and I am aware of my completist OCD tendencies - Once I get one ... I'm often sunk.)
What I meant to praise was the idea of a rotating mouthpiece with different features on each side, such that rotating it changes the look.
I've sometimes thought that more pieces ought to come with two faces, such that rotating the head changes the look - I know there have been a couple, but so few of us display the backs of the toys, and the 'Janus' effect seems like a fertile possibility for new ideas.

This is what I like about the Anraku Dako.
The body swivels at the waist allowing two different looks the figure.

I'm just down with the devil so usually anything with horns does the trick for me... a perfect example would be a Skullmerry as it is one of my favorite horned pieces...

How can it remind you of a McFarlane toy? I see at least 5 points of articulation...

Brian's said that in a lot of cases with limited releases, there will be a certain number made for an event, but that doesn't exclude the possibility that more will be made for other avenues of distribution...

That seems to be the way Blobpus rolls, anyhow. Except sometimes he drops a few super-limited event exclusives to throw everyone off.

with most the fellas its not anything nefarious - its just that most them have jobs and make toys in their spare time (instead of cruising the boards) and sometimes they just don't get all the figures ready in time for the show.
