Seventeen artists were asked to purchase a painting at a second-hand shop of their choice. Take it back to their studio and incorporate their own work into the existing piece. Coming this March, we'll all get to see what they came up with.




Renowned artist Sandow Birk's new book The Depravities of War, features a series of large woodcut prints inspired by a series of etchings called The Miseries and Disasters of War by Jacques Callot, printed in 1633. The new book also features a handful of new paintings by Sandow concerning our current affairs in the Middle East. Come out and meet him, talk art and politics, get your book signed.

Way to go Abe! Funny, I found a crazy painting of Mr. T building sand castles with children at work today and was thinking it'd be perfect to incorporate into something else.

Sandow Birk is one of my favorite current California artists. My bud Jeff owns several of his large works including two from the Depravities series. Amazing stuff.

I think September will be an interesting show....hehehehe...shhhhhh
