I've been reading about that thing for years. Just because it's *allegedly* "non-lethal" (like tasers, which have actually killed a lot of people) that doesn't necessarily mean it's non-lethal or abuse-proof, or ... any number of things. Supposedly long exposure can cause serious burns both external and internal and possibly permanent deafness and blindness. I realize that warfare is nasty and weapons aren't "nice," so it's sort of weird how they're trying to acclimate the public to the idea that because it's not a conventional gun, it's more humane. Plus I don't necessarily trust that it would only be used in warfare. They're already talking about crowd dispersal and protest disruption domestically.
