For me its HEAD/ EVIL tied as faves.... then Chaos, Akro and Bigaro
I also feel too many RXH releases period is not good for the Brand.
I'm with you on this one. I have/had too many chaos and have traded a few off. I think at one point I had 15 chaos or something ridiculous like that.
recently the evil has taken over as my favorite, a spot formerly held by mutant head.
it's all fun though. i'm liking the ability to choose what I need to go after rather than feeling like i need to buy everything.

I think the minis are also a good way to mix it up, I am really glad to see that quality remains even at the smaller size. Some of the paint combos we've seen on the minis are really nice....esp. that clear one that dropped last weekend.
Evil and Head will always be my favorite sculpts of the OG4.....but I can't hide my enthusiasm for the others too!
I really wish we saw more Bats & Akros...even Bigaos!

I remember when I saw the first Mutant Chaos and it seemed so alien and exotic or just different. Now, they just seem so common place.
The Evil kind of brings back some excitement and something fresh.
This has been discussed before but it seems like the brand was tighter a year or two ago. I realize that if you have a store, you gotta pay the rent.

That's where I'm at now. I don't NEED everything, I have like 15-18 Chaos' (that's after thinning the heard), and I'll get more here and there, but I don't need them all for sure.
I don't care how popular Chaos is, I'll always like it best, but I am very much thirsting for some more Evil and Akro. There's so much to do with other sculpts.
I kind of hope after the Chaos onslaught of 07' we'll get a few less and a few more of the other sculpts.

I agree with you guys completely. The amount of Chaos coming out is overwhelming a little. It is a wonderful sculpt, but i differ from most people and he's not even in my top 5. I'm glad there's a good Evil coming out and i'm hoping for some Akro love soon.

For his financial well being and the ongoing viability of Real x Head, the minis are the shrewdest thing Mori has come up with yet. Look what minis did for Gargamel. Dude deserves to make a profit. I know this is heresy but none of us really need *everything.*

I love the minis but hesitant to start collecting them.
I wonder when the mini Akro will come out? It's going to look detectible.

It just doesn't seem possible to get *everything*... snooze for one second and things disappear very quickly around here...
plus unless your loaded with money it can be extremely expensive to *collect them all*... not everyone can afford every release unfortunately...

I don't think its heresy to say that.

the other key word in your phrase is "need".
none of us need this stuff. we might "want" it, but the world won't end if we don't get it. well...maybe I should rephrase that for some people

I'm sure that opening the store adds another level of pressure to accelerate the pace, but the last several months have been truly nutso. Cyclomanion, Vader, HoneBorg, SuperPosition, all those minis ... Not to mention the near-constant stream of Cats, mini-Cats and Chaoe. xoconostle wrote: For his financial well being and the ongoing viability of Real x Head, the minis are the shrewdest thing Mori has come up with yet.
I agree, and it could still be a while before the mini-Evils and Bigaros start dropping, but at the recent pace it seems probable that we'll have the original-four minis all released before another month passes. And, with (at least) fourteen different mini-Chaos released or revealed already (that's counting the eight-pack as eight pieces - though even counting them as one, the number is still seven), those are breaking all RxH records for pace.
I'm still a tiny bit concerned that this frenetic pace will drive people to throw up their hands in surrender - It may even be starting already. (I actually thought I saw a post from Glenn saying: "I'm not even going to try for them all," but that's gotta be wrong - This may have finally been one of those LSD flashbacks they kept promising me.)
Happily, data has told us that Mori never reads these SB comments, so we can speculate freely, without worrying that some ill-considered idle comment here will affect his plans.

I've already made the decision not to buy all the mini heads that come out (eeew...that sounds gross). As far as the regular sized figures go, I'm cutting back on those as well. I can understand Mori's position on having something for sale at the store all the time and I'm interested in knowing what his strategy is for this. Having 3-4 new figures every week is great, but it is a strain that most of us, and even over in japan, can't really bare. It is a great time to be a collector, but also the worst time.

Sometimes I wonder if Mori's disconnect from the internet helps keep his vision pure. I like that his toys continue to show influences from cultural history, both ancient and contemporary. The influences come across as being sincere and subtle rather than ironic. I love the 'net but sometimes I think too much internet time breeds cynicism.

yeah, Mori doesn't use the internet.
I'd like to have one of each mini sculpt in a different color, then go from there. they are kind of steep at $40 a pop. I like the standard sized figures a lot more anyway.

See, I don't think it's THAT bad. Gargamel minis w/the same amount of paint and articulation are the same price.

But it's relative to me.. I mean fullsize articulated zags are 100..minis are 40 and there is a big size difference.
Fullsize rxh are 60 and the minis are 40's.

Well RxH are a different size, but the minis aren't.
Standard Zag - 9"
RxH Fight - 6"
Rxh AND Garg Minis - 3"-4"
So you're basing what the mini should cost on the standard even though minis in both camps are the same size?

But the Gargamel minis are of better quality vinyl and are bigger. I was kind of hoping the RxH minis wouldn't go over $25 when they first came out.

I just checked, the top of Mutants hawk is level with the point of Zags head.
Also, better quality? I'm not getting into that, I don't think so.

real head minis are amazing and I suspect will catch on very quickly. ask the people who went to wondercon, I guess people who dont even collect vinyl were picking them up. They are also Sarah's favorite and I think a big hit with the ladies.
I think mori is releasing a ton of limited items at his new store right now as incentive for people to come out. make a splash in the first few months and get people really great rare toys to make them remember the trip, this will create more return customers. Wish I could make a short trip and have a shop full of rxh in my hands..

Isn't the concept of chaos such that there's always too much of it?
