Holy shit - you're now the second person i've ever come across that had a TI home computer. My parents had one when i was a young-un and i clearly remember my mum spending huge amounts of time on munchman!! That's such a blast from the past!! Favorite video game death, not particularly to reflect my age but i don't think you can go far wrong with the 'worms' airstrike.

alpiner on the ti/99 had a funny death too - you would yell HEELLLLP in a lame robotic voice as you fell down the mountain

and hunt the wumpus had a cool death too
either the wumpus mouth closing on you then smiling or the always funny falling in the slime pit head first

ET...the game responsible for single handedly destroying the video game industry. If it wasn't for this game and it's affect on the industry, we may not be where we are at now. The game is also a record holder in the sense that it was created in 6 weeks.
The History of the Atari 2600...Waring: 8pgs long
in case you're too young to know about the ET game...

As far as character deaths go...this is one of my favorites.
and...a video of the death.

My other favorite is the death of a blood elf in World of Warcraft. It's really well done when you see the blood elf gasping for air and reaching out then finally dying.

haha yep - that was the first computer game I played (prior to that we had a vic20, which doesn't really count, although you could programme basic on it).
I think leisure suit larry was my favourite series though, i felt so NAUGHTY playing those as a kid, even though i'm pretty sure I wouldn't have got a lot of the jokes. 2 & 3 especially were awesome.
sucks about not being able to play them on a mac, i remember downloading the old EGA ones and them not working properly (funny that)

Quote: I would have to say old school dragon's lair during the lava part... where it would cut to the knight dude like turning red and grimmacing in agony...
I totally forgot about that. That game had some pretty gruesome funny stuff in it. I always sucked at it.

If you have a pc at least one of the kings quest games has been touched up with new graphics, music etc. I think they were working on one of the space quest games as well.

I like all the Dragon's Lair deaths, but that is my fav, Dirk gives the player a dirty look for getting him killed

Gauntlet 2 for the NES had some great sounds. When you would die the character would spin around and this strange voice would cackle. Thats still one of the funnest 4 player games ever.
