I am going to have to agree with you on Gargamel, they definitely provide the best toy-unbagging experience ever.

As for bad smelling vinyl, I can't say I've ever smelt any vinyl that I didn't like. Although I remember Sunguts not smelling nearly as good as others.

I used to know some gals who had fun making things out of vinyl. They made a crazy vest for me that I found it hard to know when to wear, but when I tried it once, people kept coming up to me to smell the vest. "Mmmmmm, vinyl!" It was sort of weird.

i just got a vintage UK Cyborg and the outer head smells intoxicating. sorta caramel sort butterscotch with just a hint of rum.. no wait that hint of rum is coming from my glass.

not sure if the Cyborg head is vinyl or rubber tho.. smells great just the same.

I agree the GID Jumbo Jar of Pus smells so toxic when you take the lid off the jar.. like 10,000 sharpies with a touch of jet fuel to give it a kick.

after the first few whiffs you start to crash neurons!

The recent few Dream Rocket pieces that I've bought were toxic coming out of the bag- smelled like acetone. I think this may have been the paint, though.

I have to say that the worst smelling vinyl I encountered was the Giant Toxic Clear Green Blobpus figures. Right when I opened the bag to take photos, I thought there was something dead or someone had a rotten sandwich or something while making the figures.

The best smelling one is.......I'm not sure. I would have to say anything besides that Blobpus figures.

I think the smell inside of lucky cats is pretty hardcore, don't smell it if you're straight edge.

Maybe that's why I'm addicted to them.

and now we all know the real reason we all buy vinyl toys....its the smell of it. You buy a new one, open it up and say "Let me take it out of the bag to get a closer look..." when really you're thinking "I gotta get it out of the bag so I can feel it...and sniff it...and lick it....".....ummm...okay, maybe not the licking part.

I like the wash of smell that I get when I open my enclosed display cabinets. All of the particular scents mix together into a sweet, rubbery smell.

+1. When I crack open my cabinet, especially on a nice warm day, woo I love that aroma!

Ahhh, the smell of cancer causing chemicals.

Seriously, as a person bordering on Howard Hughes-ish germ phobia, that shit freaks me out. I want a respirator when I open a box from Celga.

This thread is making me want to get a case non-open air case just so I can pop it open and get that delicious smell all at one over powering whiff.
