I've decided that I will forever be indebted to Dennis (Baikin) for sorting me out. I mean that. I cannot believe that it went for that much! I figured 150 tops. Seriously. No way was this guy is going to approach Bemon prices. Somebody had money to burn- and wanted it really really bad. Now I feel slightly bad for even mentioning it so much on this board, possibly getting it hyped up.. I'm sorry no piece of vinyl is worth over 400 clams. Just my 2 cents...

Screwed up, that signature on the header is worth $200-$250? I'm gonna find Akira Kubo and force him to sign all Matango related merchandise.

And, what's the story with the red-eyed Gabari (?) on the right? Doesn't look like the DR sculpt, but I don't know of others ...

The bug-eyed kid looks like he may be ceramic.

Ceramic, yes, I think it was Polyestercowboy who made them along w/a bunch of other cool Matango ceramic stuff.

The lil DR Gabari is a Koji custom I believe, someone asks every few months when a pic surfaces

Thanks! - What's odd is that it's a 'mini' Gabari, but AFAIK DR has never released it. Hard to believe DR would go to all the trouble and expense to make the molds for the mini and then not release even one version of 'em ... maybe someday?

Any other info you can share? When/where it was sold, do you have any pics of other versions, or are there others you know of?

I guess it's possible they made the molds for the mini, but haven't done a formal 'release' of it yet because the full-size Gabaris were not a big hit when they first dropped - It's taken them a little while to build up a rep, it's definitely a figure that's much more striking when you have it in-hand.

I'm just speculating of course ... and J, if you ever think you wanna shuffle that li'l fella out the door, or you see any others pop up, let me know! I'm a Gabari fan all the way.

The transforming man is nice---but what I really want is the Mami figure M1 released.

Yah Mami was at the top of my list.. I was finally able to score one.. the only one I had ever seen for sale... and at a decent price too.
Now for the painted yellow M1.
With prices like that on ebay Im so glad Ive already got my gid Transforming man. Its definitely one of my favorites.

Was the regular version a low run as well? Im still trying to get my hands on one.

The regular version was doing the rounds on YJA for awhile and just went away a week or two ago. It was pretty steep though (about 128 USD). I was pretty tempted but then the GID version was offered. Lately rarer Matango stuff has been popping up on YJA. Did you score the Mami that was up there a few weeks back? M1's Transforming Man was up there also. Of course you have the 2500 Yellow painted M1 still there, which will never sell....

If it does, mine will be listed the next day. At the low, low, discount price of $2000!

Just kidding, I'll never part with Ole' Yeller.

The regular Marmit transforming man pops up occasionally at decent prices. Better than the one on YJA, anyway.

The M1-Go Laser Disc Set is one of the coolest things ever cast in vinyl. The sculpts and the paint make them real works of art. The bases are a really nice touch, and make the figures so nice to display.

Polyestercowboy - your ceramic Matango stuff is really amazing. Did you ever make a Maimi cookie jar?

Yah I got the mami that was on YJA..... it was a few months back. I rarely bid there but I couldnt resist. I paid less for Mami than what those Regular edition Transforming men are going for. Im holding out on the regular T-man for either a trade or.... an awsome price

Someone was selling the Transforming man laser disc set here awhile back and for a great price too.

Havent done the cookie jar yet. Been super busy. Mainly becuase Im leaving for Japan in less than 3 weeks now for a 3 month ceramic residecny in Shiga.
