Tillys had one in store that had usugrow lettering, the famous e-store had the matching deck work in "limited" colors as well as some select retailers having the standard colorway that was I think silver or white.

As for Usugrow...I first saw his art for punk bands in flyer and record cover form from japan about 10 years ago...I though it was ok to decent. He has definitely evolved and is a TON better in my opinion!
Nothin wrong with getting on in years. I feel like more of a whippersnapper on here compared to other boards i use - i was just trying to lighten the tone a little as it seemed to be taking a turn for the serious.

Maybe I'll see you there! Sounds like Doc is going too. Pretty much Doc and Martin are the only folks I know that visit SB. Met jocappy once but he seems to have disappeared.

my husband has loved usugrow's work for a couple years now - he had good convo at sdcc with eric nakamura (GR). eric was trippin' out that he was even familiar with usugrow.

So I gotta say I was a little disappointed with the show. It was mainly his silkscreens, I think there were maybe 8 pen/inks and 3 paintings. Seeing the pen/inks in person was great - the detail is incredible! The silkscreens really don't do them justice, the detail just gets blown out. The paintings were pretty boring, and of the pen/inks a few of them were just a repeated rose motif - IMO there were only two standout pieces, one of them being the first pic in rhino's post above.
Usugrow is an amazing artist, but I would like to have seen a lot more original - and varied - artwork. Still, I'm happy to have gotten the chance to see any originals up close and in person.

Yeah, the pointalism shading is what really makes his work incredible. My favorite images of his are the female skulls/figures...really captures feminine beauty, while maintaining the mysteriousness of death, and the "toughness" of skulls.

have any pics of the show? that's too bad you got to see mainly prints... i'm guessing there wasn't alot of ink pieces because he's had 3 shows in the span of 8 months. The first one was coolest because it had pieces from the past few years (i'm assuming he had done them from the past few years) even though about half weren't for sale. did you get to meet him and get any insider info on future rebel ink releases?
