But most old stuff like those on the mandarake had no header. Some collectors who started off 3 or 4 years later may had dump those bags and header. I think sending the figure back to RxH , they could help verify the authenticity of it.

And taking those figure to some laboratory can easily verify when those vinyl is made.

As long as the brandname is not introduced in china. Fake one should not appear.

I glad that it hasn't happened. From what I've seen on this board, it seems like all of the painters and customizers put a unique spin on a blank and 9/10 I really dig them. I don't paint but some of the stuff is amazing.

I just was wondering about in the future if you see something on yja or even ebay and the description "no bag or header etc" and it's a rare fig..how someone would be able to tell.

Not every piece on YJA come with header and bag. Some I scored on YJA didn't come with header. I think people started collecting in 2004 may not keep those header coz they didn't think of reselling them. Not a flipper

the difference will be in the weight. so bust out the digital scales. the solid chaos appears to be much less vinyl then a normal one. i will try and get proof later today.

Does anyone know if Mori hand mixes his paints or uses standard colors off the shelf....that in itself would make a jinormous difference in someone trying to pawn off a fake

That may be true. But prior to the solid chaos and flesh blank...it seems like people have been painting over the standard releasing from the past. So the weight would be the same. I think.

And about the bag and header..I don't have half of the bag and headers. I am just saying that someone with really really good paint skills could possibly duplicate an image. It happens in the art world a lot and it could possibly happen with a toy. It doesn't have anything to do with china bootlegs etc.

Also I don't know about sending a figure back to rxh..how that could verify the authenticity. I mean there is a thread about the paint variations of the Black Heal Chaos...where people have a few different noticible paint applications for one figure.

Anyway..I was just wondering if there was a future concern.
cheers

Since I generally ONLY buy RxH from legit dealers brand new or from folks here who I KNOW are on the level, I don't fear bootlegs that much. You could argue "how do you know the people you buy from HERE didn't get screwed w/a boot?" and I don't. But most the people I DO buy from here ALSO only get most of their stuff from more familiar sources and if they don't, know what to look for.

It's all about a tight community. I don't buy from seedy flippers where I'd doubt a figures authenticity.

My Solid Chaos is 66g, and the lightest painted one (in the same configuration) I've found so far is 78g - the Flesh was 71g. But I wouldn't want to depend on weight to determine fakery - The weight varies a fair amount even from one piece to another of the same edition, and a little weight could be added to opaque pieces in ways that'd be tough to detect.

Oh this is not good at all!!!

The original Lucky Bag release came in a white bag with RxH logo's in a line across the face. That is it - no header. There was the Evil and Head and the Bigaro was the harder of the three to get. this essentiall it a rerelease of those figures. Weight or no, hole in the neck or not. This is not good.

Now on the upside - Mori appears to be releasing classisc painted figures in the mini line (ala Datadubs pics) and is not doing the painted ones. BUT give him time you never know.

I had a KT-Chaos, but I thought the vinyl thickness and quality was as any RxH official production piece run. I guess maybe it's not the same? I know Gargamel's kt stuff is thinner than the standard stuff. I don't like it for that reason. too soft and thin.

In all seriousness its nice to get a cheap Evil with no stress at all that's elegant and clean. I fully intend to display it unpainted.

I don't think anyone is nay-saying the toy, just the act of reissuing.

Its not a reissue, there's a hole in it.

By your attitude your obviously not a long time RxH collector. If you where you would understand. This IS 100% a reissue. Call it what you will, but its still a re-issue.

Actually my post was a reaction to you bridling at any criticism of Mori yesterday and griping about him today.

You slam Hiddy's customs constantly, where's your line of classic neo Kaiju figures?

Here's something you surely aren't expecting Lash.

I think you do excellent work, of all the people customizing RxH your work is perhaps the most organic you really seem to feel the sculpts.

You don't need to slam others (Hiddy in particular), when you do it brings you down. Hiddy's customs are sloppy but I like them and respect the hell out of him

Yesterdays "fuck you" to anyone who aesthetically doesn't like Shintosan seemed a bit unnecessary.

Anyway I was kidding about the hole and you attacked me for not being old guard which I'm not.

Still you could relax and let your talent (which is considerable) speak for itself or not ... whatever.

With all these flesh blanks, white blanks and painting over existing rxh figures, I was wondering if there is ever a legitimate concern for fakes being reproduced? I mean some of you painters are so good that I feel people, including myself, could be completely duped. Just wondering.

This has been discussed several times over the years.

The flip side of the coin is if anyone would ever acetone a figure and sell it as a rare blank. And this has been discussed too.

Kinda surprised that there isn't a bootleg market by now.
Similar to what happened with BxH.

1.) Yesterdays Fuck the nay sayers" comment was a happy little joke. Do you think I was sitting behind my computer with an angry face being serious ?? come on...

2.) I dont like Hiddys Hand paints. Well not all of them, but most of them are terrible. Thats my view and I will stick to it until I see otherwise. This doesn't mean I dont have tons or respect for the man. I just think he could do better.

If you know me you know I'm a light hearted super friendly guy. A lot gets lost in translation through a monitor. I learned that along time ago, if you where here since day one you will know just how many arguments I have gotten into here because I read them thinking they where attacks, when they where just sarcastic.

Dude I'm not angry, or gonna hold a grudge at all so lets just let this die. Besides I don't consider what I said an attack. Just and observation, which is true These are re-issues and like you said you dont really collect RxH so you honestly dont know how the old schoolers feel. Sorry if I offended you some how. And although I really appreciate you compliment on my customs, I have NO clue how me saying Hiddys customs came into this thread. I havent said anything bad about those in a LONG time :? why did you pull that card ?? I'm confused ?

And rhino lets not get into that again. Toybot if you feel up to it, feel free to chime in. I'm not going to explain myself again. I just still think its funny that so many believe what others said at that time. It was NEVER meant to be a bootleg. There are changes. Not to mention I have NEVER seen the original in hand so i had NO clue how close I came to it. Shit I mixed clear paints to get the clear vinyl to look that color. I'm more shocked that I was able to do that. What ever though, believe what you want.

I think the reason I said to solemnly swear to paint any and all reissues, or reissue like figures is so that this wouldn't happen. People wouldn't have to argue over whether this is a reissue or not if they're all painted up.

The zag is a different story all together. The reason people are going to keep them and display them is because there has never been a solid clear zag released before. It's all about the thrill of the hunt with this one. If you want a solid evil, you should have to search hard for it, but if you want one to paint, these guys are fantastic. I'm painting all of mine....end rant....

Well the newb card got called first by you.

The Hiddy thing has always rubbed me the wrong way since I think you're technically a superior customizer but Hiddy is the great man himself and you do go after him just about everytime you see one of his customs. It seemed about as relevant as my lack of old schoolishness.

Sorry if I offended you.
