I think this country is filled with scumbags who file bullshit lawsuits, clog our system up and make everything cost 10x more than it should.

Having said that, the airline (or their employees) are partially responsible for this happening. When you fly on an airplane there is a reasonable expectation that you can fall asleep in your seat and that you will be protected. All of us here can agree to that. How the flight attendants managed to miss some dude leaving his seat, moving to a seat next to a sleeping passenger and then jerking off and finishing onto her head(!!!) is beyond me.

The sad fact is that a lot of people in this society don't help people when they need it and they ignore someone else in need. But while most people aren't legally obligated to help, in this case the airline employees were, and they are horrible people for not stopping this guy. It is unlikely that no one working noticed this, and if they didn't notice it they weren't doing their jobs.

She is suing the airline because while justice may serve the scumbag by sending him to jail, she probably feels that the airline needs to be held to some responsibility also. I agree with her. And the other obvious answer is that the difference in suing the airline is that the guy won't have money but the airline will.

If this woman was someone I was close to, after I kicked the shit out of the guy who assaulted her, the flight attendants would be next on the list.

Conversation reminds me of an incident that's way less gross, but slightly similar. I was riding the bus home after a night of drinking. I was one of two people in the back section of a slinky bus - the other person happened to be smoking crack. I thought that was kinda messed up, but let it slide. BUT THEN the crackhead moved to the front of the bus to sit next to a fairly attractive woman and proceeded to continue smoking crack next to her! And no one did anything! Being drunk I took it upon myself to set things right and walked up to the crackhead, kicked him in the leg as he was taking a hit and said "Don't smoke crack on the bus!". Then I told the driver there was someone smoking crack on his bus and he still didn't do anything, just kinda hemmed and hawed, muttered something and trailed off. And to wrap it all up the crackhead got off at my stop.

Anyway, it's true - people really won't confront outrageous/disgusting behavior happening in public.

I think because in this day and age, you don't know if you're gonna get knifed/shot/mugged etc etc which is pretty piss poor if you ask me. I agree though, the airline should be accountable. The thing is is that people just want to turn a blind eye, because it's easier.

Sorry, sorry, in all seriousness this is just foul and they should lock this dude up. Nasty. This should def. get you on the sex offender registry, some jail time, and you should be liable for a lawsuit (as an individual) in civil courts.
