they go on rotation outside the closet sometimes.. used to have most of it on a shelf near my bed... but i start to go crazy when i see all the clutter when i'm half asleep. also have a detolf, but i sorta want to get rid of it. i do like having a "what the fuck" closet though

The people at my work always make really positive comments about the toys on my desk but then again I only have a few sitting there... Kozik Murder Dam, Off World Creature, and a Dr. Bomb by Mr. Kozik.

The first time I had my future wife over to my house, she asked, "So where's the Strawberry Shortcake?" It put a smile in my heart and love blossomed. Being made fun of for your toy collection can bring the most special things.
Second favorite reaction was a group of Mormons who were coming through our neighborhood door to door. They were two young guys and they were trying so hard to stay on pitch, but then one of them saw a grouping of toys and his eyes lit up.
He said, "What's that over there?" I smiled and said, "Just some demons and stuff, things you guys probably shouldn't play with." I thanked them for their time and sent them on their way.
Strong is the draw of the collection, even to the non-believers.

As much as I hated the last wave of Star Wars movies, I still can't help but kick wisdom in yoda speak.

Yeah, i thought the self same thing after reading this thread.
I've not really had anyone pass comment on my current set-up (only recently put stuff back out) but in the past i've had someone say "i just bought a [expletive deleted] off firebox, are all yours still for sale on there?" when they came around.
I've also had reactions along the lines of
"i'll have to look them up on the interweb"
"that fuckin shelf hurt my head!"
"It's something different i suppose"

My dad: In a mildy disapproving tone. "More toys?"
My mom: "You should be saving your money for a house."
My roommate: "I like this one. I wouldn't mind having one like it." and "We could put up shelves in the living room so you can display your toys out here." Best roommate ever!
My girlfriend: "Looking at them makes me happy." Is it any wonder I'm falling for her?

Generally people are too gobsmacked to say much.
Clearly I have lost my sanity, as it all looks like compacted clutter
with some theme to it.
Then, trying to think of something say
I will hear something like -Oh there is a SPIDERMAN...
When the flood hit and wiped out the toy room with 1.5 feet of freezing water at 30 below zero temperature outside, the only thing I remember were the following comments:
Insurance Adjustor:
"You can't spend time trying to box this stuff up. It is all JUNK. Just a bunch of toys. Get RID OF THEM. You need to concentrate on just throwing it out so we can concentrate on saving the house."
Moving company worker:
"I've seen bigger collections in California..."

Whenever I hear about natural disasters, one of my first thoughts is about all the collection that must have been lost or ruined...
Sorry to hear about your flood, hope you didn't lose much.

Friend: "I know what movie that one's from."
Dean: Which one?
Friend: "The blue one."
Dean: Oh, that's Balbagon, by Dream Rocket. They make high quality kaiju.
Friend: "No, it's Millennium Godzilla. Look at the chest."
Dean: Not really. It's partially inspired by him but it's also partially inspired by Gwangi.
Friend: "That's not Gwangi, it's the most recent Godzilla. I have Valley of Gwangi on DVD."
Dean: I know but Balbagon is an original creation that incorporates elements of other monsters.
Friend: "I know that it's Millennium Godzilla."
Dean: AAAGGGGHHHH!!!!
