...preferably Brooklyn because the island of Manhatten is already infested with Wack Robots and Toys For Tots Tokyo.

I told Brian a while ago that I would quit my job and move to work at the store if they wanted to open one out here. he said they have some other stuff in the works first.

Over the years, Texas has had some great Japanese toy stores: Atomic City (Austin), Modern Toys (Dallas), Right Brain/Left Brain (Dallas), and I'm sure I'm leaving out some good ones.

Post Store
Well, I'm hoping for Kid Robot to go down in Flames. With the prices they have it's a wonder they stay in business.

Hell, if there was a S7 store...and in Brooklyn I'd work for free :D Plus I can hook you guys up with the "in crowd", since I'm juiced and all...

All in due time, we are still tweaking the SF store first - look for our NEW space right next door - three time sthe size, and twice as sexy! (give us a couple of months to get it ready for you....)

I can't wait for the new store, but I hope double the size doesn't mean I am going to be spend twice as much money every month.

Twice as much? I'm afraid it's gonna be on an exponential scale...

A-frickin'-men to that one, brother!!

That would be one of my top job picks!

I've had this dream for quite a while of running a comic & toy shop -- originally referred to as "Mr. Panda's Shop of Wonders".

I was a HUGE Ranma 1/2 fan in high school. :D

Seriously, we need cool shops like S7 in Texas. Pretty much anywhere.

It is ever so hard to find stuff around here. I think Tex can back me up on that, unless he has a secret source somewhere.

Ask about vinyl toys, and most clerks in these here parts point you to er, um... "marital aids".

Houston had third planet, a few things at nan's and there was an anime shop by rice that had a few bullmarks, but that was years ago. Dallas had right brain /left brain and dealers showed up at the fantasy fair (R.I.P. Zoboid's shop), Austin had atomic city and I always got stuff at the swap meets, plus there is /was a good vintage shop over in the letter avenues that had some good stuff. I found a few things at Canton flea market, especially in the tree area, and the fort worth flea market at the stables downtown by the art museums was always worth going to, in fact quite so.

Granted, you are never going to find Secret Base there, but you can find some popy stuff.

I've been to Atomic City -- it is very cool with a lot of stuff. And decent prices as well.

I'm not sure Third Planet is even still around... I'll have to check with some of my cross-town toy ninjas. ^_^

Planet Anime is in Rice Village, and used to be such a great place for several years. Then it went down, fast & hard. Now, it only has the stuff you can get from Diamond Dist. -- same stuff as comic stores, only marked up. Not even worth a trip down there anymore. I think they lost all the cool stuff in the great Allison debacle a while back. Now it is much of the suckage. Which is really sad. Last time I went in, which was a while back, they had no vinyls of any kind, and even most of the JP model kits were gone. Sad state of affairs.

Since most of my friends are all in Austin, I'll have to have them take a look at some other leads. Thanks for the info.

But you won't find SB, that's for sure. It's getting hard enough to find even any kaiju and Ultras and so forth. But that's why I order so much from you guys at S7!

There is some neat stuff to be found in the Chinatown area, character goods and whatnot, but most of the stuff discussed around here is completely unheard of.
