I don't know.
I see RxH as more like the Usugrow Rebel Ink.

Yeah, but the RxH figures actually are supposed to fight each other...

I thought lines were drawn...and a battle was supposedly established within the Mutant world, when Mutant Head realized humans were "good" after all??

Another thing I've been thinking about with regards to the decline in SB is the "RFSO" sales. Perhaps people selling these figures below retail may have actually hurt the retail market (along with the secondary). There's been a few good releases lately, but I've thought to myself "Why buy these at retail when I'll probably be able to pick them up for less in 6 months?" If several people think this way then that could have a fairly sizable impact on the retail market and set up a vicious cycle. So while it's nice to pass good deals on to each other, it could also possibly be harmful. I dunno, maybe not.

Not particularly into skulls. There have been exceptions though.
and everyone's into RXH + only a couple of figures appeal to me...
(Mutant Head & Mutant Evil).

yeah, i totally agree with this. when people dump their figures, it sorta fucks everything up in a hobby that is pretty expensive and trading plays a big role

NT, you touched on what I was trying to understand as well. Did Skullbrain's boardmember lack of interest in Secret Base and subsequent SB sell off contribute to the SB market crash?
or are we living in a bubble and SB is alive and well everywhere else?

I was ushered in by the SDCC Bruised Chaos. I resisted the pull for a bit cause I knew seriously collecting RxH would put a hurtin' on the ol' bank account. But when I got my hands on my first Mutant Evil... it was on.
I still dabble in Skullbrains, Skull Pirates, etc. But try to focus on RxH.

hard to tell. maybe if these companies issued release # or S7 opened their books, maybe we could make a better judgement

the only SB sculpts i've ever been into are the ghostfighter and the rebel ink. i'm also into the occasional obake but don't actually own any (yet). saying that though, i'm not into all of RxH's sculpts either.

I would always check out the Japanese stuff when I went into Toy Tokyo and SB was the first thing that caught my eye, could never really decide on what to buy as I wanted them all, so I just kept putting it off and stuff. I then joined these boards so that I could but the purple Usagi-Gon had up on here and would just lurk and check out all the stuff over here. Then finally one day after going into Toy Tokyo I decided I needed to finally buy my first piece of kaiju, a Cronic Maverasu, but as luck would have it, it was gone so I ended up buying my first Blobpus and thats been all she wrote since.
I really don't like the SB stuff any longer, for me they are to clean looking(if that makes any sense). I prefer Blobpus, RealxHead, Gargamel paint jobs, 5 people can go out and buy the same color way of the same toy and they will all be a little different, but with SB if we did that we would all have the same figure.
I don't know if any of that made sense, its late, I'm full of cold medication...

I'm waiting for the day people unload their Secreters and other earlier Skullbrains for below retail so I can snatch them up...along with earlier Obake figures and a few Skullbees

lol..... i don't think were that far away.
I remember when Secreters like the Forest and Employee were holy grails and going for close to $500. It seems like you can get a Secreter these days for just over a hundy....(well, maybe still not the Forest, but Ocean for sure)

It's not just on the boards. Prices for old SB have really sagged on YJA as well. This makes me wonder about the extent to which the fight figure / neo kaiju market is driven by international buyers.

Well SB used to be all I'd see in the collection shots on KR, I think most of the OGs who used to post there have stopped posting (don't blame them). It was an easy way to try out the Japanese vinyl I was hearing so much about, and I didn't even know about kaiju at the time. Now they have KFGU, killers, etc for that which are much more accessible.

Who gives a shit about noobs?
They usually glom on to whatever is popular.
I've picked up a couple grails in the last six months.
I hope they keep fighting it out and throwing money at RxH.
Less competition elsewhere.

As long as it remains practically impossible for me to get a GID Silver spray Skullwing, I don't consider all of SB to be in decline with collectors...

may be 1 or 2 yrs later, someone may ask the same question but it would be "why newbies not collecting RxH but.... "
As long as SB or RxH DO NOT reissue their toys like Rumble Monster, the population of fans should be retained at least for a certain period of time.
