Post Tetran & Beralgon
what do you dudes think - will these dudes catch on?
I just received another set today, and I think these dudes are waaaay underrated.
The sculpts are just so radd and perfect,
and the grey/brown and green/orange colorways are especially fantastic.

What will it take for these dudes to get noticed?

I'd like to see Bwana do a colorway...whaddya think, Mr. Belly?

As a semi-educated guess ... community self-generated hype. A few knockout photos of them posted to the board followed by some enthusiastic and maybe even informative comments. Time and again we've seen how that works. Your suggestion of some Bwana designs couldn't hurt either.

Anyway you're right. They rock and are under-appreciated.

not necessarily a custom, but a nice Bwana Cosmos colorway or something.

as for photos-

Image

how killer is the back of the Beralgon?
that part of the sculpt just kills me.
The Tetrans surface crosshatching/diamonds/whatever pattern is so radd, too.

"What are YOU looking at?"

I'd love for some more knowledgable head to tell us all about the figures these are based on.

Thanks.

They're from Koji's Kaiju Kollision show last year.

I'm a big Tetran/Beralgon fan myself.

The gray with spots one is one of my favorite Garg minis. I have those 2 on my desk at work to keep me happy. I find I like there size a bit better than the mini zag as well. They are just a little bit tougher than that little one eyed bugger.

I really dig these - probably the best of the Garg minis. However, I don't collect Garg minis. I would love to see Gargamel to full-size versions...then I might buy them.
But no, I don't want to see Bwana do them. Nor do I want Koji to do them. Just let Gargamel release some standards.

Thanks!

Yeah, I could not believe I was able to snag him from the online store. The pink guy is a one-of-a-kind test shot for the tetran sculpt!

And you know, one very superficial thing that I really love about his figures, is that 90% of the time he paints the inside of the gargamel mini's mouths candie apple red. For some reason, I really dig that. You can barely see it in the shelf shot, but if you check out the mini zag in my want list you can see a good shot of what I'm talking about.

Yeah, this was discussed before in another thread. Bring on the full sizes. Gargamel would clean up and send us even more broke! Clear, Coloured, GID and so on.

:D

I like the sculpts, but I haven't cared much for the colorways that I've seen. If I could find the clear ones at a good price, though, I'd pick them up. And a GID version of both figures would be nice.

why not all of the above?

and maybe I'm alone, but I'm not terribly interested in standard size versions of these dudes.
I think they're perfect the way the are.

These are some of the best mini sculpts out there. They're living in zag's shadow. They're the best tag team since legion of doom, but maybe they should take some time apart.

Your other two would fit nicely in my collection.
I agree that these are both highly under-rated figures.

The Buff colorway (more like a color palette I guess) is pretty refreshing imo, adds a bit of spice to ye olde collection :)
