That was our one chance to tell Mori a little something. I wanted to keep it positive. I'm pretty sure the guy is busting ass to keep things going with the new store and all. I try to remember that Mori may be a "toy god" over here and abroad, but in Japan he's one of many underground toymakers in Japan just trying to make a living. Remember, he wants everyone to enjoy RxH. I'm sure he's doing his best to make that happen. give it time. I think some kind words will go a long way, but that's just me.

I totally dig what Hiro is saying....your first shout out to "the man" shouldn't be some qualified expression of appreciation. "We love RxH but...", that's not cool at all.

Asking Hiro to present those criticisms, is even more aggregious. I'm sure the new store has a mailing address. If you feel soooo strongly about it, take your chances with one of the online translators, and send your own note. Few to none will do this because in the end they won't make the effort to complain on their own, only if S7 is facilitating, via Hiro. Ironic that its also S7 that even made it possible to enjoy such foreign creations in the first place. Nice.

AND, we haven't even TOUCHED the cultural implications around making such "constructive" critical gestures during an initial introduction. Not cool at all.

There is a right and wrong place for certain comments, and bitching from the start is completely rude.

Hiro, I'll let Mori know there is much love for him and RxH around here when I see him later this month.

The debate on optimal run size, prices, release pace, reissue, colourways etc will never ceased for a simple reason - there are different collector characteristics.

We all collect for different reasons, some for rarity and exclusivity, some for the thrill of the hunt, some want cool pieces at retail and in the comfort of online, some dun mind paying and lining up for what they want and some simply "collect" to make some money or most likely a mixture of different reasons etc etc. It is interesting for me to learn that "business model" is also a strong influence on decision to continue collecting a certain line or not.

It also puzzle me sometime to read complaints about multiple colourways and limited runs when collecting japanese kaijus. One key characteristic of japanese toys is exactly that --- small runs with large colourways.

In short, there are many wishes and wants.
My view is RxH is doing fine now. There are enough not so difficult to score stuff around. Check out the gorgeous Kozik GID coral evil and the kaizine chaos etc. When there's enough to go around, there will be comments like "no need to buy everything RxH put out", "so many better stuff coming up' etc. Thats great because no one like evils (E, you reading this? :D).
When there's not enough to go around like the V3 evil and soon-to-be Kamen Chaos, there will be inevitable voices to up the production run etc.

The point is if you choose to join the frenzy in the hunt for the limited releases, be prepared to live with the disappointment of not scoring or paying a little more if u really want it. Conversely, you will enjoy the moment of pure joy if u do manage to score. You cannot expect to win all the time and YOU have the choice - to join the frenzy of limited stuff or go for the easy to get stuff. Personally, i like the hunt :D

If mori-san tries too hard to satisfy everyone, he is likely to end up satisfying no one.

Finally, i just want to tell mori-san that don't change anything, the formula is just right now and thats what define RxH.

1. I thank Beyond for bridging the gap between Mori and his fans.
2. I personally felt that even with some negativity it was legit and can be felt throughout his fan base.
3. Mori is mature enough to take the criticism and will only see it as an opportunity for better business in the future and in return his fan base will grow. The only way to move ahead is to know the current problems with your own business model. You can't fix something if you don't know the problem.
4. The message will still get to him one way or another with his fan base in Japan who are SB'ers.
5. I truly appreciate Mori has open ears to his fans. Only good things will come out of it.

Never listen to your fans. They will surely ruin everything.

Ok my long winded 1000+ word post was lost twice LOL!
So here is a Super condensed version.

I feel the Honorable Hiro meant what do we love about RXH and what inspires us to collect...not wants and critiques.

Krud had a point it has gotten harder !!! ...as the ranks have swelled....but it used to be even harder before S7 got a deal to sell RxH .I too am frustrated....but it came off as just a Dis of S7 .

Right or wrong we cant expect to bust Flynn's balls that hard on SkullBrain.
Flynn has collected and promoted and turned Skulls onto RXH since before MOST of us ever even saw a Mutant and this is his SkullBrain....so a certain level of respect is due...period.

Mori-San was RHND long before we ever heard of RXH...some of the best sculpts and Sprays came with NO outside influence...no matter what I want or any of US want...this should probably remain pure Mori-San ..sink or swim win or lose live or die.YES even # of releases...new sculpts...and the biggie... RUN SIZES.

Sure my opinion is almost always right LOL!...but if I gotta choose between "OUR" vision for RHND and Mori-San's....Im choosing Mori-San's vision 100% as long as that doesnt include reissues or too many more colabs LOL!

Even if I cant keep up or decide stop while Im ahead its better than RHND catering to the what we want ...1/2 the current RXH fans didnt even collect em 6 months ago...maybe Mori-San knows best what RHND should be doing.

That said I will have a hard time getting my RxH fix cause I have less and less time to get my New RxH and less $ to get em on the flip-side.It is also hard to not want to have a say...but ultimately its Best for RHND to exist without "Our" say because you could add all our says up and it would not = Mori-San's creation of RHND.

Hiro ...I love the mysterious super-cool and originality of the sculpts and the early fine sprays and lack of masking .I am also inspired by Mori-Sans DIY roots and ethic .

Long live RHND!!!

Many keep bringing up that criticism can help "improve his business plan/model". What if his business plan/model is exactly how he wants it? Only he really knows the vision for his company, and it's a bit presumptuous to assume he wants advice.

I hate this fucking forum.
Not as much as that pretentious custom forum.
But it's definitely number two.

Thoughout life, I'm trying not to hate and just make love and whatever.
Live and let live.

But this forum is a direct challenge.

Carry on...

That's my point. If he wants it this way then that is fine. But the point here is that negative and positive feedback should be equally accepted.

I want some more common devil dogs so I can get a set, seriously if a KT set came out in white I would flip out, does anyone else really like them? It would be my first RxH since I can't find the red or black set. I love how hard it is to get the stuff, while everyone is busy trying to find the stuff I get to snatch up new SB releases and get the cheap sb stuff after everyone tries to unload quick to get cash to pay a flipper for hard to come by real head. If the stuff was more common you wouldn't want it as bad and he would have less of a hand in how it comes out, which is why its so amazing. If you look at these things as an extention of art what he is doing seems perfectly fine. He isn't just a business owner, he is an artist that works with cast vinyl. Everyone should be happy he isn't churning out his art and making it accessible to all, if you want stuff like that there is plenty of Thomas Kinkade galleries around.

Deleted text can mean basically anything especially to those who didn't actually read it.

I don't remember criticising Mori or saying his work was anything but incredible. I'm not breaking any agreements by saying this imo.

The only people in this thread I'm certain read what I actually wrote are Pogue and Kidclam.

I'd prefer not to post in this thread again but maybe if trolled expertly it could be done.

Feel free to have the last word or not whatever.

I read what you said. My problem with it is it isn't based on facts. While the dist. network may spread out the product, their simply hasn't been enough product to satisfy the demand regardless. So, instead of blaming S7, maybe we should realize that RxH/Mori is still relatively young and will hopefully change his approach to the marketplace soon. In all honesty I believe it's a problem and that he will change the small quantities he has been producing lately. That said, I know S7 and the distro network are not the problem.
