 stupid avitar help question how do i lower the kb on my image? 6kb seems real tiny, what do i do to an image besides shrinking it in size to lower the kb?

Generally speaking, lower the quality. Make sure you're using a compressed format such as .jpg as opposed to larger-sized .bmp or .tif or even .gif.
If you have Photoshop, use "save for Web." You'll be able to adjust by file size easily using that feature.

No prob. I just remembered ... if you're using Windows, there's a great little free app called JPG Cleaner that will remove unnecessary data from the file ... this doesn't affect the viewed image at all, and helps reduce file size, sometimes considerably:

You could also get a free flickr account and link from there. The size restriction is imposed for images stored on the board- I don't think it applies to externally linked images.
