Glad you're okay and I hope that they get you patched back up soon!
That's gotta be kind of surreal just hanging out around the house with some vinyl sticking out of your body...you are becoming your hobby!
Very poor judgement call on your supervisor's part to tell you to "stick it out"...macho is good for boxers or other people that ask for hurt, but not good for the rest of us...when something isn't right with your body, get it checked out asap! Of course, I'm an old fart and worry more about that stuff now than when I was younger and felt less vulnerable to destruction.
Anyway, I wish you the best in your recovery!

Dang Rich,
You are to young for this! I would rather have you alive than more lash customs. Sad to think that but I would rather have you alive.
Sincerely
Ike

Rich, I wish you a fast recovery and think you are due at least workman's comp- most companies push" Safety First" and would not make someone tough it out- it does leave them open to lawsuits.
Painting is good therapy- hope you can continue to do so.

Yikes!
Rich, I'd avoided this thread, assuming it was just some random grossout pic or something - It never occurred to me that something had happened to you personally!
Good luck today with the removal, I'm sure that will go smoothly. And keep working till you find a lawyer in whom you can have confidence. Good plaintiff's lawyers are not one bit scared of corporations - The bigger and more obnox they are, the harder the juries like to hit 'em! It is unbelievable they would tell you to 'tough it out' - They are just plain dumb lucky that it sounds like this will have no permanent aftereffects for you.
Keep your chin up and your respirator cinched down, and we here will eagerly look forward to the painted fringe benefits flowing from your finally having some spare time to paint, while you heal up. If you're ready for some new commission work (and some spare cash) while you are on the mend, just say the word!

They will be numbing me as they need to stitch up the opening. It will hurt but nothing like what I went though last night. It was movie like for sure.
upside: chicks dig scars
get well soon yo

Just to update, the tube was removed today. Its looking pretty good. I will be seeing a lung specialists at Yale. I spoke with her today and she feels that my chances are slim of it happening again. But it can happen. Stats show 20% of a relapse but she said I'm lower due to my healthy lifestyle. This has spooked me to the bone though. Just knowing that it may happen again at any given moment is a freaky deal.
I just feel that I need to jump right back into life again otherwise I may fall into depression.

That's good that the tube is gone...and 20% isn't too high, really...
When you jump back in to things, just try to keep those water jugs from thumping into your chest! I'm no doc, but that doesn't sound good.
Look at the bright side---you're going to Yale!
