That piece of shit fills me with both unbridled rage and deep sadness.
I can't believe they made 350 of them!
I hope they all sit, unsold and unloved, for the rest of time in the basement of whoever thought these up.

Here again is a good example of a vinyl toy that by itself is not bad and it's downfall is that it's marketed or passed off as "Kaiju". It's a good thing that Eric Scarecrow didn't design this to look anything remotely like any known Kaiju. It looks like some Graff/Anime hodgepodge that the urban vinyl kidz will go for. I think we where never the target audience. Kaiju was used as a sensational buzz word for the Kidz who don't know Kaiju but know it's "seem" to be popular to get excited about. So in short,,"Kaiju is big so lets tack it on our next toy so we can sell allot of em...and fuck those Kaiju guys!!". Maybe not what they actually think but I wouldn't be surpised.

No, it's bad. It's downfall is that it wasn't made in 1996 when baggy-pant, big shoe, cartoon characters with spray cans graced t-shirts in every mall across America.
THIS IS BAD. REALLY BAD.

Bingo. Not to my taste but the ongoing dilution of the word "kaiju" by non-Japanese toy designers and their marketers is increasingly lame and makes these non-kaiju toys all the more repellent to those who have a sense of history (and respect for it.) The description "old school" makes it extra-nasty not to mention dishonest.
Scarecrow eh? Isn't that the guy who was even crueler to the Statue of Liberty than the Cloverfield monster?

When I read about this "old skool" crap, I knew it'd be bad but I wasn't expecting a bad acid flashback to the 90s. Someone bust out the smart-e's.

Oh ho ho! Well that explains it all! Is the guy from one of those countries whose fashion sense is a decade or two behind the current trends?

Who is chimichanga_01 on that other forum? I've been posting on EScarecrow's thread just asking simple questions cause I'm curious to know why the figure is Old Skool Kaiju...cause I see neither one of these references in the figure at all. When people say Old Skool, I think of the earlier days of rap with Run DMC, LL Cool J, Afrika Bambaataa and the Soul Sonic Force, and Kurtis Blow. They never really wore baggy clothing. Some of them were just flashy...or maybe it's just me being old.
