Post Comcast digital cable vs Verizon FIOS TV
Verizon fios tv is finally available in my area. I called today and it will be around $67 with a hd box and an extra regular box.

I currently pay $78 for comcast?

One megaconglomerate shit fuck corporation vs another.

I have been raped many times by comcast.

I currently have verizon fios internet and phone but the package deal doesnt do much for me.

Should I switch? i want to simple for the fact that i never have had problems with my internet and am hoping the tv service will be the same.
they do make you sign a 1 year contract htough :(

Are there more hd channels on? Better quality?

do tell...

Fios is better if you have a HD set up... Comcast has been reducing the bandwidth for their HD channels lately, and Verizon has maintained a much higher bandwidth.

If you don't have a HD set up, then Comcast will probably supply more viewing options with their Video On Demand offerings... but I hate Comcast.

Fuck Comcast! If Verizon offers reliable service (and at less cost) then go with them. Fuck Comcast!

had fios for 2 years in richmond va and it was great the whole way through. great great great. never failed. the free on demand stuff was great. lots of channels that cost money on comcast are free on fios.

ive had comcast out here for 3 months and I cant stand it.

my 2 cents

However... if you have an opportunity to check out AT&T U-verse... I'd go that route.

(cuz that's the project I've worked on for the past 4 years or so)

I'm seriously jealous. Not much competition in my area for Comcast. Would love to try out Verizon fios. Comcast just recently rolled out their wideband service here, but $150 is a bit more than I'm willing to pay. On the other hand they tripled the upload speed for basic users.
