If there ever was a demonstration of the difference in quality, style and all round uniqueness of SB, well this would be it.
Why are they going to the vet? Maybe the [expletive deleted] are getting shipped off to the knackery?

Well, if you're really concerned about it, I think people should stop pushing skullbrain on the KR board.

This is an open forum so I will promote it.
I think it is great collections like this exist; I don’t know a better way to prove a point!

Whats the big deal about this pic? Don't many of us here have a mixture of Western and Eastern vinyl in our collections? I know that I do.
With exception of that Huck Gee [expletive deleted], I have every figure in that pic - and the Acid Head came via our very own Knewnan.
Have to say that if I had to choose tho, it would be Japanese with no hesitation...

Since the first day I strolled into the collecting playground, I have hated [expletive deleted].
There. It's out. Have at me.

I do have a mix of western and japanese toys. Much of my western is English come to think of it. Fowler and Jarvis.

They definitely lack something after hanging with the SB's, Gargamels and RxH's of this world. I really can't imagine them being collectible classics in the years to come. But, they make a nice platform toy for some artists to show their work.

yep, James Jarvis is one of my faves to...up there in design with the big guys...if not comparable in quality. King Ken is one of my faves.
I have lots of those Monsterism figs, but no where to display them now.

Mixing east and west is a kind of alchemy. Sometime you make a magic potion sometime you blow up the lab.
Boom!

You up for the Pink King Ken Muton?
Took me a little while to warm to Jarvis, but he a definite fav now.
Knewnan - you're right. Can be a juggle to get things to sit nice. But I think if you are genuinely into a toy or artist or company things will fall into place, at least for the collector.

i actually like every one of those big eared guys but only own 2 of them now. i think the "shelf" bothers me most. hate me. I WANT THAT PINK OBAKE! think he would take my red tut for it? it is funny how this was my entry drug into vinyl and now i just see that bunny fig as a platform for customs for the most part. everyone is entitled to like what they like.

Very true! Just looking at my humble collection I've noticed a definate segregation of toys. My displays are almost all arranged by aesthetics and the two genre don't seem to play well together. There are exeptions, but for the most part they clash. 2 cents

I totally agree with the "To each their own" statement.
I've never collected [expletive deleted]'s but that had more to do with the fact that I've never liked the actual shape of the figure to begin with. Although many are given great personalities through their various paint jobs, the form itself has never done anything for me. In all honesty I really dislike it.
To a lesser extent, I feel that way about the Obake as well.
I've always thought it to be really bizarre that someone would actually give another collector grief over what they choose to collect. That being said, I love the whole JP scene, and I'm personally happy that it has not grown to the extent of "the other side". Selfish? Perhaps...

I am not bashing anyone’s collection. I love the anarchy dun-ny and I have a great jLed custom too. I just love the fact that this is how the collector chose to display his toys, it is good to be slapped in the face every once in awhile. I am fairly certain this was an intentional response to the whole RFSO attitude on this board.
I will say it again, I like the display (for all the wrong reasons).

i have been exchanging pm's this morning with the cat who made that display.
i truly think he loves dun-nys, and he loves SB. i am not even sure that his display was intentional. he just paired up what he likes
