Damn, what shitty experience. I'm really sorry for your troubles! I've had stuff I've collected stolen from me before and I know the feeling. I hope you find it somehow. Sorry, man.

I hope this doesn't go the way of the art world.

"and it would bring these things an element of status in regards to how they are viewed in the art world"
Is this important?

regardless of how you feel about the outside artworld, it doesn't matter, these things are starting to be noticed and i just bring up this point because i really believe that a numbering system would solve so many problems....outside of the artworld notice, which you guys seem to have seized on, the other two points i bring up are very strong arguments for a numbering system:
theft
and
bootlegs
it would put a cold stop to either of these things happening and it would be economical as well in terms of theft prevention.

In all the time i've been here this is the first theft i've heard of. Admittedly it's been posted all over the board so i've heard it more than once.
Ditto on the bootlegs. Theres some BxH boots knocking around, but they're so badly done they're obvious. And to some people, even collectable.
Run numbers are closely guarded for obvious reasons. Numbering them would affect that. Also, what's to stop me owning #6, painting up another version and selling that #6, keeping the original. Bootleg would then be out there.

There's no way you could get all the creators to agree on it. We've already heard Mori's take on it: if you think it's a boot, don't buy it. Plus, it seems to go against the, forgive the cliche, punk/subculture/anti-establishment mentality that most of this stuff sprang from.

I never got that whole anti-establishment thing.
Didn't it mostly start from some rich kids making toys?

Man it sucks your toy got stolen .....but damn, get over it and this ongoing pity party....all this whining isn't going to get your toy back...you specifically remember not letting it leave your hand you specifically remember your two friends didn't notice you leaving it, like its their job to make sure you don't leave your shit....The fact that you considered calling your credit card company is laughable....I don't think they have a "hey I am a dumbass and left my shit somewhere specifically that I can't remember" policy. If they did, you would be in the mix...
you said you went back immediately after you noticed...realized that it was gone....How long was that? Man , this is NYC not Disneyland.....you know how many people get got in the city on a daily basis let alone at the Comiccon? And you know how fast stuff gets taken here in the city? Keep an eye on your shit and it won't get taken....and in case you are wondering, I have had toys stolen from me a couple times...

I hope he gets it back too, but I hope people won't jump to conclusions and assume that the one in the sales thread is the one in question.

Edit: That was a fucked up joke. The people that found it funny somehow was the only thing not suprising about it.
